I'm extremely frustrated!!!!!!!!!!! Like many other reviews I would give zero stars if possible. I know some of the staff really care, but not any that can prescribe prescriptions. My son was discharged 3 days ago and was feeling better on the medication they prescribed. We have not been able to fill the med because the staff can't get the right information to our pharmacy in Michigan. They keep saying they sent the info but when I talk with the pharmacy it doesn't have everything the pharmacy needs or the pharmacy hasn't received it. Maybe they are just lying to me. Several times it has sounded like they might have it taken care of but no, they kept sending invalid forms for the med that my son needs. Meanwhile my son's mental health is worse than when he went in. This unacceptable!! If my son didn't have me as an advocate, or have a support system, I don't know what he would do. The staff just keeps kicking the responsibility to someone else or say it's taken care of, when it is not. When the floor nurses couldn't help me I left messages for the doctor, the social worker, and the nurse practitioner, NO ONE called me back. Finally, the operator wrote an email with my info because she couldn't connect me with anyone and thought they all might be in a meeting. The quality director, Christine, finally called me back. She was very nice, and said she would make sure it was taken care of in an hour or two. Two and a half hours later and still NOTHING was done. They sent the same information they sent on the first day! Why would that work when it hadn't worked for the previous 3 days??!?!?!? Now I've been told to wait for a least a half hour for the electronic prescription to reach the pharmacy while the pharmacy says it should be instant. This is my son's life we are talking about, not just a job, or a number. I waited 45 minutes for the instant electronic prescription to be received by the pharmacy, nope, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! Update: finally got the prescription to the pharmacy in a format that the pharmacy can use. BUT WAIT, its not over yet, only a 7 day supply?! Not 30 days like they said?!?! And it's over 2 weeks until the follow up appointment that they made for him!!!!
I truly do not understand how this hospital is open. I was transferred here after an emergency room visit. There were MAYBE three behavioral health techs and nurses who saw us patients as human beings. During my stay, I witnessed patients get physically assaulted, elderly patients be neglected and left in their own feces, physical arguments where the staff protected themselves over us. I had people trying to call me that I was never notified about. I was given one pair of underwear my entire stay. I had to beg for a toothbrush. I had to beg for my own change of clothes and never received them until I was discharged. There were few groups to help us be better prepared and not end up in a situation where we needed to go to a psychiatric facility. The room I stayed in was covered in words saying “Help me”, racist remarks, “f**k you”, “thank you guys for not helping me”. This should have been immediately painted over. On top of all of this, and I am sure I have not covered everything, it has been 9 days since my discharge. I have been calling everyday to get the medication they prescribed me. STILL I do not been able to get said medication. Go to any other psychiatric facility you can. Do not send someone you love here. Do not expect to be helped here.
I was told by the hospital doctor not to trust the reviews. Please don't listen to anyone telling you that. This place should be shut down. Our rooms and showers were freezing.they messed up and lost my medication many times. The people in charge are not looking out for what's best for you. They keep you drugged and they don't listen to you because "you're crazy". I honestly feel this place is one big insurance scheme. It was my first time going inpatient and it did not set me up for ever wanting help again. Please if you have the choice go somewhere else and if you're forced to go here, I'm so sorry just be strong.
The top doctor only cares about the hospital from a business perspective. Focus is on patient room and prescription revenue amd not patient care and development. This philosophy is practiced by most of his staff, except some aides and nurses who really care. A very bad experience. I did not gain anything but more anxiety from this place.
Stay away from this place. Absolutely horrible. Did nothing for my fiance. She came out of there just as bad as she went in, and got worse. Staff has bad attitude. Just not a good place
Do not allow patients to communicate with family or vice versa even when you have an access code like they require. The staff keeps you on hold or hangs up if you ask to speak to loved one even though you have an access code. Stay away from the place if you have a loved one.
Staff is very rude and unprofessional. However upper mgmt easy to work with. Would not send my worst enemy here do to lack of care and neglect. I don't understand how this hospital is still up and running, very scary that they allow these ppl to take care of others
This place is a joke my sons meds were just fine but his ex wouldn’t give to him. Of course you can’t get more than a 30 day so his dr recommended going to ER. He was transferred here. The people that work there are lazy and don’t care about patients. There is not even group or individual therapy there there!! Don’t ever let a loved one go there
I attended the in-person CEU event on Elder Abuse on 5/5/23 open to healthcare professionals. Greg, the presenter, was very easy to understand and the information presented was helpful to me. The entire team that facilitated the event was very friendly. I plan to attend as many as I can.
I give this place a zero if I was able to. This has to be the worst hospital in the US. I am my sons court appointed legal guardian but was unable to talk to his attending psychiatrist as he/she was "too busy" prescribing medications. I was told this hospital was in a group and he would be assessed and put in the best one that could help him. For some reason this hospital was only able to keep him for 72 hours sighting insurance restrictions. However the hospital before this one had him for 10 days and the next one 19 days. But I consider us lucky to get him out of there. Besides giving my son terrible care, they discharged him under another patients discharge orders. We live in Northern Illinois - a 3 hour drive- and was on our way to get him when the hospital informed us he was no longer at the hospital. He was discharged to Fremont Michigan and dropped by the side of the road in November with no cell phone no jacket no glasses and even wearing some one else's shoes - 4 sizes too large. The police had to be called to find him. When he finally got picked up by medical personnel they deemed him not to be mentally stable and took him to an ER. This hospital then would not return our phone calls to retrieve his belongings. It appears the only person at this hospital without a voicemail is the person in charge of patient belongings. We finally drove there again unannounced a six hour round trip to get his things. There are only two nice people I found at this hospital the receptionist if you're lucky enough to get her and his social worker. Stay away from this place. It should be closed down.
