If I could give a negative I definitely would. They are unorganized and unprofessional. The officers lie on a consistent basis. Almost as if they are scared to actually do their jobs. The point is to protect and serve and they are not doing that. If it’s a petty crime they seem to be all over it. Instead they always want to threaten to arrest someone except for the true aggressors. They don’t want to actually investigate and do their due diligence.
Dedicated officers who keep the community safe by preventing the crime from neighboring communities from coming here. They have an excellent citizens academy that I recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about how the police department operates and the hard work and long hours that it takes to get the job done right.
You are so much better than the New Castle police department they are actually threatening to incarcinate me . The hero Police department are fake as hell. And the emotionally and psychologically abused pit bulls. By telling their owner on a constant basis that the normal Police department is ready to incarcerate her.
They couldn't cooperate much for my wife's complaint, that her neighbor might be stealing her mail and packages. They blamed their lack of cooperation on the lack of surveilance. I mean the apartment complex would have to set that up. But literally, no help.
The Newark police are very good at their job. While they protect the public, they are also concerned with those who are victims of crime. Understanding how traumatizing crime can be, the officers I have dealt with, have taken time to help process and validate those feelings survivors often have. Kudos to the best police department in Delaware, in my opinion
They literally try to get you for things you didn’t even do, even if you’re not intoxicated they’re somehow going to find a way to blow a .5% on you, if you’re driving the speed limit they’ll find a way to make you have gone 20 over. These are the most corrupt cops I have ever seen in my entire life, and I haven’t been more ashamed of trying to become a cope than when I come across the “police officers” that work in this location. This place is literally a disgrace to this state.
Talk about a terribly run organization. This police department clearly doesn't have their priority's set straight. Instead of trying to curtail students drinking because you know it's just like most Universities how about focus on the bigger issues at hand such as the all the other crimes that go on in the city of Newark. Students are not the problem it's incompetent city officials.
5/14/18 Dear Newark Police Department, The police officers that were involved in running over the German Shepherd and the Pitbull that were loose on Friday, May 11th should have their badges ripped from their uniforms and they should be permanently dismissed, we need to have zero tolerance for animal cruelty, this incident was vulgar beyond belief. What kind of a police department are you running? I don’t know what’s happening with law enforcement in the United States when it comes to abusing animals, it’s like we pick the most unintelligent human beings to become public servants. I am outraged at the treatment of these animals. Why were these animals run over with police cruisers? And why was the Pitbull shot to death? I’ll tell you why, because your officers have no respect or dignity for the actions they take, and they don’t care how they portray themselves to the citizens of the city that they represent, these officers need to be fired, and your entire police department needs extensive training on non-lethal methods so that they know how to interact with dogs in the community, everyone else knows how to interact with pets, but when it comes to law enforcement they are still at keystone cop status. I called here to report an online scam happening at an address near this station and I was directed to the state police who refused to do anything unless a crime has been committed.. please look into it. The address of the scammer is 2213 Ogletown Rd, Newark, DE 19711
What a disgusting way to show off the police department, running over 2 dogs and shooting the other dead. They probably would’ve shot me too, I have more compassion for the innocent and less for those who kill the innocent. what a disgrace. Smfh
