The Newport Beach Police Explorer Post 1050 was founded in 1971 by Police Officer Stan Bressler. They donate an average of 3,000 hours a year to the community. Many previous Newport Beach Police Explorers have gone on to be F.B.I. agents, Police Chief
A Police Explorer is a young man or woman between the ages of 13 and 9 months to 21 years old that put time and effort toward their community. Individual Explorers volunteer hundreds of hours of community service through crowd control, parking control, and traffic directing. As Explorers they are there to represent the cities Law Enforcement and establish a safe environment with the assistance of other Police Personnel.
