Newport Police Volunteer Association
Newport Police Department Volunteers have unique skills which are utilized to assist the Department with a wide variety of duties. Participation in the Volunteer Program allows the citizens of the Newport community to become involved in police department activities, and to provide assistance to police officers and other Department personnel. Through these activities and assistance, volunteers work with the community to prevent crime, provide services and create a safer environment for the City of Newport. Volunteers are fully trained to assist the Records staff, Detectives and Sergeants with special projects.
The mission of the Newport Police Volunteer Association is to support the Newport Police Department in achieving the goals set forth in its Mission Statement, to abide by the Department Values and Motto.
The NPVA is comprised of value-oriented citizens, dedicated to building the partnership between the Newport Community and the Newport Police Department.
The mission of the NPVA program is to serve as a volunteer support service to the Newport Police Department, enhancing the effectiveness of community policing through the provision of administrative and support services.
