NWP has been great experience! Very friendly and feel very comfortable with the mental health professional they set me up with!
Unable to get a call back from anyone as a new patient. Left four voicemails over two weeks. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt because I understand that everyone is working remotely. When someone actually answered the phone, they were quite rude. She kept telling me I'd need to speak to the new patient coordinator, but the voicemail message and options don't say that. I told her I had been waiting more than a week and a half for a call back and she said "well we're a very busy office, you know," like that made it acceptable. I also run a very busy office; we call people back within one business day if they have to leave a message. The whole thing just left a very poor taste in my mouth. I had my hopes set on seeing a specific psychiatrist who is also board-certified in another branch of medicine that I thought would be very beneficial for my health, but I had to find another office to work with instead. Update: The office called me in response to this review to apologize, which I did appreciate. However, I was told they did not get a single one of my calls. Since they called my cell phone, an unlisted number, I have to question how they got that information without receiving any of my messages. Seems very unlikely.
Love the doctors here! Unfortunately I can't say the same about the front office staff. My most recent experience was when I called to reschedule an appointment. Barbara berated me for missing an appointment. I understand it was my fault, but all I wanted to do was make another appointment. I apologized for missing the appointment and said part of it was because I didn't get a reminder called. She quickly snapped and said, "we don't do those." Interesting, because I usually get them. Just unfortunate, because like I mentioned the doctors are great!
I have been a patient for years and providers that should help coordinate care with other psych needs, it’s a feeling of not having the desire to bother with it! And that’s very sad, if they don’t seem to care then who will? Also, the dealing of certain matters with this office during Covid, is completely inconsistent and unacceptable.
I love NWP. Saved my soul.
I called with a referral in February and left a voicemail for the intake coordinator; the message before the beep for them said 3-5 business days. Next week i called and talked to a receptionist who said they would pass along the message. I left another voicemail. 5 weeks later i get a call back about an intake appointment for a month and a half from then, so i said yes because i needed a psychiatrist badly; my old one had dropped me. during the intake they first off didnt know anything about PTSD except in veterens, told me i didnt have anxiety, and when i mentioned i had a self harm addiction that i was about 200 days clean from, they just ignored it. seems like an important thing. I also have adhd and got diagnosed over 10 years ago; and i am already on patient gateway which is the neeton Wellesley system and have my diagnosis on there from another doctor; yet apparently it wasnt enough so they mailed an adhd evauation. It took a week to arrive and i had finals so it was an additional week before i filled it out and emailed scanned copies to them. I also made note that the adhd evaluation not only had not been update with research in the last 20+ years, but even then it wouldnt have been helpful. I explained for each question what my reaction was other than “true or false”. That was over a month ago; havent heard back. DONT USE THEM. Their adhd research for instance, doesn’t include any research on anyone but adhd men without anxiety or depression. Thats how old it is.
Have been waiting 2-1/2 days now from a call back to the office to schedule an appointment! Message says they should get back to you in a couple of days. Are you freakin' kidding me? I can only imagine how the rest of the place is run! Unbelieveable.
the woman who does the billing is nasty. it is unnecessary to talk to people the way she does.
Great staff. Love Mary Coakley.
