"Dr. Sharon Margulies is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Boston University Medical School. She completed her Ob /Gyn residency at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston. Sharon has a special interest in office-based gynecologic procedures including Novasure endometrial ablation and removal of uterine polyps. In addition to a full complement of obstetrics and gynecology services, she also offers her patients a variety of cosmetic treatments, including Botox and Restylane.When not working, Sharon is likely to be spending time with her husband or visiting her daughters. I saw Dr. Margulies for diagnosis of a cyst—which, as you might imagine, can make one feel vulnerable and uneasy. She examined me for all of 1 minute before declaring "I don't see anything." I provided a thorough description of my symptoms, pointing directly to the location of the cyst, and expressed my unease, but Dr. Margulies appeared uninterested in listening to me. She was in the exam room with me for a total of 4 minutes before flatly telling me to "come back when it's visible" and abruptly leaving the room. No explanation, no reassurance, no further questions. In my shock, I went to the front desk to ask whether they would charge me for the visit, explaining that Dr. Margulies hadn't provided more than a cursory glance and immediate dismissal. I was assured that I would not be charged. Not only was I charged, but the office also failed to notify me that they had fallen out of network with my new insurance, so I was charged several times my usual copay. I called the office hoping to clear up the issue and was told that because the doctor physically saw me, they would not consider waiving the fee. I have since had a better experience with another doctor at About Women by Women—now that my insurance is in network. But Dr. Margulies in particular and the reception/billing department were checked out and uncompassionate.
This is NOT Jim but his wife Patti. I have used Sharon for many years. She has seen me through routine experiences as well as those more serious. With a family riddled with cancer, she formulated a prevention program for me which, after just a year. detected a tumor that was quickly removed and proved non-malignant. I have traveled with Sharon into my post menopausal years where she currently assists me with the challenges of an aging female body.
Save yourself from emotional trauma. She does not put patients as her priority. She’s highly inappropriate rushes through everything she does. She does not care for her patients, and your concerns are nothing but rubbish to her. She rushed to do a cervical cone biopsy after an abnormal papsmear. That should have been my first red flag, her lack of tactic, and her way to rush through everything. She blew off my prepartum depression, and I wound up with severe postpartum. She also informed me, I wasn't pushing hard enough in my delivery, and just decided to do a c-seciton. She cut a ligament, which my following ob/gyn was horrified. I was also informed that, because I really did not want to have a c-section, I did not want to have a healthy baby. With Dr. Marguiles rushing, my child wound up in Special Care Nursery. If you're wise, you'd run from this entire practice. I lost enough blood to require a blood transfusion a week after being discharged from the hospital. Dr. Marguiles neglected to make any mention. I also wound up with pneumonia because of the surgery, and a fellow physician of hers, claimed i was fine. I have since her botched surgery wound up with numerous health issues, and PTSD and have a severe phobia of any medical procedures because of this woman. This office and staff should be avoided at any cost. She and Dr. Vasilakas should be revoked of any medical privilege.
She is very kind and has a bunch of knowledge and she likes to help patients and she has great advice and is very through and she talks to the patient and the family
