If I could give this place one star I would this hospital is horrible please avoid going here at all cost and go somewhere else!! I was in severe Pain laying on the floor today of the waiting room at the hospital for hours.. they finally called me in after 4 1/2 hours. Moving forward I’m laying in the bed now waiting for the nurse to come see me some other lady comes into the room. She was in the waiting area and came after me. I was sitting on that bed in that room for 15 minutes and she gets seen first!! Wow I’m crying and screaming in severe pain Is best to go to another hospital they do not care about you at this hospital avoided at all cost please listen.. The nurses are rude disrespectful and inconsiderate you will never ever ever see me go to this hospital again beware.
This hospital is far and away the best hospital experience my husband and I have ever had. We have been there twice over the years for cancer surgery. An amazing amazing nursing staff . They are so caring and right on top of everything. Ready to help in any way necessary. Very impressive.
I’ve never experienced such horrible time management and worse bed side manner than I witnessed when I was with a family member as a patient. In the ER, after waiting 6 hours, it was decided the patient needed a CT scan but the PA said that he can “probably” get the contrast through iv, she left and no one came back for over an hour. I ended up going out to the desk at one point and asked if he was going to get it through IV or what the plan was and she said yes IV, but the imaging is really backed up. Less than 5 minutes later transport shows up and asks why he hasn’t received any contrast yet so now transport stood there and waited another 10 minutes. The patient ended up getting admitted at around 10, we’ve been there since 2 and then they let us know he is now NPO at midnight, so he didn’t get to east anything all day. They said his procedure would hopefully be around 8 AM the next morning, he was admitted with very little history questions asked. The next morning at 6:30 they come in to test him and they finally ask about medical history. At 11 o’clock, I asked what was happening with the procedure and the nurse who we saw a total of 3 times over the 12 hours she was responsible for him, 2 of the 3 times we had to call for her. Rudely said because the patient didn’t disclose anything before so now it’s pushed because of him. The surgeon later told us it was because they had 3 emergencies push in this morning. If the nurse said anything we weren’t sure of and asked for clarification she would say “As I just said” and repeat herself, which was so rude. It took her over 2 hours to discharge us because she didn’t “want to go through admitting another patient” before 7 PM. The wait times were horrible but the nurse was the real problem of why I would never return.
The Doctors and nurses in Labor and delivery were phenomenal. Many of the staff through out the hospital were amazing. From the security, to food service, to house keeping and the nurses, staff and doctors on the maternity ward after delivery. However, I feel that their could be more compassion from Ms. Annie, a nurse on the maternity recovery ward. I often felt like Ms. Annie was reluctant to give me my middle pain medication, the oxytocin. And I was in alot of pain. She often tried discourage me from having it and it made me wonder if she might have been wanting to keep it for herself. Also at discharge Annie was very impatient with me. At her "Advice" I skipped my middle oxytocin dose that morning of the 5th. And while I was filling paperwork for my daughter I began to experience a new pain down my left leg. I moved my leg around and walked around but the pain did not go away. I decided to alert Ms. Annie in the event the pain is indicative of something more serious. MS. Annie's response to me was "You don't want to do home?!" As if to say how dare I bring up a concern as we are processing paper work for discharge. I told Ms. Annie yes, I want to go home, but I also want to check to see if then pain is something that should be looked into before I go. Ms. Annie said she will get the doctor. Instead I heard her talking to someone outside of my room #650 That I am "Now Complaining about my leg." Soon after a nice nurse I met in labor and delivery comes to speak with me. I expressed to her my concerns and how upset I am that Ms. Annie is making me to feel like I am a burden to ask about it. She advises me not to concern myself with Ms. ANNIE and asks a series of questions about the pain. She says it sounds like sciatica and that it is nothing to be terribly concerned about. Ms. Annie enters the room and joins the conversation adding that sciatica is easy to get to be careful with my movements etc. I trusted the nurses advice. But I should not have been made to feel like I should not ask questions about new pains that I suddenly experience. Also, the young man Sean who pushed me and my infant daughter in a wheel chair from the 6th floor to the 1st floor and outside was on his cell phone the entire time. He held the cell phone between his head and his shoulder which compromised his ability to smoothly control the wheel chair. I felt like I was being pushed way too fast with my infant child and at one point felt that he was going to push us into the security check point desk to the left when exiting. I wasn't sure if to hold the chair with one hand or my child with both during the trip it was so unsteady and fast. Sean did not end his conversation, but asked me if here is where I will be picked up and left us there while he completed his conversation. I have a picture of Sean on the phone. I feel this was unprofessional and an unkind way to treat a person who is recovery from a surgery. Despite all the great things that the staff does at this great hospital the few poor experiences can do alot to sully it. Finally, the phone systems and some personal who man them seem very disinterested in answering the phones or interacting with clients. I had a bad experience trying to get through to patient services and the medical records department. The patient services line picked up and was silent at 9:05am. Then I dialed again I got a young lady whose voice was very soft. When I let her know that I was not able to hear her the line went silent and then to a recording. When I did get through to medical records the young man Fred transferred me to 311 with out notice. I was not able to get assistance via phone and had to come in to get the help I needed on the 6th. The young lady in medical records and security were so helpful. I was successful in my mission on the 6th in person. If I had to deliver again I would still trust the doctors and nurses at this hospital. I wont let 1 or 2 people spoil it for me. My family and I are safe, well and happy. Thank you.
Yesterday July7,2023 my husband had an angiogram in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory . Our experience was nothing short of excellent.WE were both very apprehensive about this procedure . My first phone call last week I spoke to Mary, one of the nurses , she answered ALL my questions and reassured me everything was going to be all right and understood all my concerns. I requested if possible to give my husband the first appointment on July 7,2023 and sure enough he got it! We each got a phone call the day before giving the time we were to arrive from Dana also so professional and patient .She also explained my husbands pre-op procedure he had to follow. We arrived at 8:00am check in was easy and a pleasant nurse came down from the Catheterization Lab to bring us up to the Third Floor Lab where the procedure was to be done. We were then greeted by Andre , an unusually kind and caring nurse who was my husbands nurse prior to the procedure . Also met with our cardiologist Dr PaleyI recommend him to everyoneThere were other nurses, Andrea and a nurse practitioner who were very professional and took excellent care of my husband as well.. Dr Kumar Kalapatapua very gentle caring doctor introduced himself prior to the procedure he was going to perform and put us both at ease. I was told I would get a phone call from the doctor as soon as the procedure was complete and I did. I. was able to sit with my husband as he recovered as promised. From the first phone call to the time we left the hospital we were very confident and amazed with the excellent quality of care and the ENTIRE Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory . Thank You Marion and Ray
Zero Stars. What a terrible experience. Went to the ER on Sunday, 3 hour wait, a nurse missed my vein and hit a nerve when taking blood... "oops my bad, do you want someone else to do this?" Ummm WHAT? I was ultimately given Benadryl and sent home, when I came in complaining of many symptoms related to an adverse reaction to an antibiotic. Fast forward to Tuesday, I am back at the ER at 11am with the same symptoms, but worse and intensifying. This time it was a 6 hour wait to be let into the ER, plus another hour before a rude nurse took my vitals. Ultimately, I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday EVENING at 9pm!!! I spent the entire day and night on Tuesday in the ER, and spent Wednesday in the ER also, until 7pm, because they didn't have any open beds upstairs sure. It's now Thursday morning, its 5am and i just returned from the MRI tube. I asked the nurse for a muscle relaxant that was given to me at 7pm the night prior - the nurse doesn't have a record of that in my chart... OK, but, really now, you're the nurse that gave it to me! I could go into much greater detail of how terrible this hospital and its staff are, but I will save the full blown tear down for another day, simply because the neurologist here is great and that's what I'm here for really. But... Eff this Effing hospital and literally everyone thay works here. What rude, inefficient, inattentive, inappropriate staff they employ here. The effing ER Charge Nurse, named Siobhan, spent the entire time that i was there, smacking her chewing gum, shopping on the internet, and loudly proclaiming thay she was ready to go on break but was waiting on another nurse to finish paperwork. Unreal. This hospital is trash. NYP took over and it became corporate medicine 101. Don't come here if you have an option or choice. Go to White Plains or even New Rochelle. Seriously.
Can I not even give them a star? The service at this hospital is so bad. I went in Friday was hurried out straight from ICU on Saturday was told I will have follow up care for PT and all that nobody called. Three days later I’m calling everyone is so rude. Finally got someone in ICU who said I needed to come back ASAP I went back to be told he had no reason to tell me come back. I ask the nurse to please don’t stick me in the same spot as previous because my hands are blue and bruised she goes it’s just a headache you have. Oh really? So since it’s just a headache why waste everyone’s time in the ER?? These nurses act like we are bothering them. Natalya in the ER was demanding I sign a AMA and I did not because they called me to return to then just say it’s a headache…why would the ICU department call me to come back in if it’s just a headache. This hospital need to have their nurses trained. They are unprofessional and does not care. They are all there to past time and get paid. Forget also if you’re not the right color. This hospital is also racist I stood there and saw them bend backwards for a patient who was the right color.
I was in the NYP Westchester Hospital formerly called Lawrence Hospital cardiac cath lab yesterday to undergo an angiogram which turned into an angioplasty and cardiac stenting. I had read a number of reviews about the hospital prior to coming in which were extremely negative, and based on that I was feeling a bit apprehensive about coming here. I did know the cardiologist who would be working on me from past catheterizations done at the Manhattan campus, and I trusted him. But I am always weary about being treated by any providers or hospitals with uncoordinated staff, that communicate poorly, or that have poor attitudes about their jobs. It turns out that my concerns were completely unwarranted. This unit was incredible!!! Unfortunately I’ve had to have a lot of medical interventions over the years l, so I can say with confidence that my experience at the cath lab at this hospital was among the most thorough and caring I’ve ever experienced. The coordination and professionalism shown by the nurses,PA’s and physicians at Lawrence was outstanding and of the highest standard I’ve ever encountered in my life. I’m extremely grateful and indebted to all of them.
Me and my family went to the emergency room on a Monday afternoon. To no avail nothing was done for 4 days. Medically that is. However this hospital racked up bills with 2 sono grams 1 MRI and second MRI with contrast tones of blood draws no medical consult but just their PA rounds in the early morning. All of this to have my gallbladder removed the following Wednesday as an out patient and that Experiemce was even more Loop sides as being in the hospital the week before admitted to the oncology floor. What a desastre. No care for any person or regard for any person sick no less. They need a complete rewrap. Soon will hear the media tell all the truths.
If you are sick and in need of urgent assistance, please do not come here. Waited in the emergency room for over 7 hours with only 3 people ahead of me. The nurses made fun of a patient that was crying of pain and told her to stop being dramatic. They showed absolutely zero compassion and made comments about her as she exited the building. You would think nurses would show empathy for sick people but nope.
