As a new graduate student at USC, I am blown away by the quality of the available facilities. I am an assistant for two courses in this theater and it is simply amazing to watch movies, new and old, in this beautiful palace of Cinema
I have attended many screenings, festivals, love streamed opera events at the theater. Large theater with seats spaced far enough apart to not feel cramped. Usually fast check in. Clean. The only downside is that they redesigned the bathroom to now there is only one stall and one urinal for men. That can be an issue for large events and result in long lines and wait times. Otherwise a great venue.
A very nice theater with quality projection and sound. A good place to see movies as they are meant to be seen.
Went for a screening..such an amazing theatre!
We just discovered this theater, to watch the new Star Wars on opening weekend. For only $6.25, we got to choose our own assigned seats, and found that all the seats are these beautiful reclining loungers. The aisles have more than enough room for people to walk to their seats without disrupting anyone else. In very impressed with the theater, and will certainly return to this one again and again.
I took an introductory film class here. It was a rich and satisfying experience, and greatly deepened my appreciation for the stylistic, thematic, and technical aspects of the medium. This theater, though, is a bit strange. It's blocky from the outside - clearly a holdover from another era. Inside, the facilities feel uninspired and dated. The theater is suited for viewing movies, but isn't great for interactive lectures. It's not an intimate place - not a place where you carry on conversations. The acoustics are clearly designed for listening to a movie rather than discussing it.
High quality films, from new pictures to the classics, in their original forms, and with great sound. The chairs are comfortable, and the house is spacious. Downsides? Not enough bathrooms, no food allowed inside, and screening are almost always limited to USC students.
If you're gonna see a free Hollywood movie sponsored by USC, this is the place to go. Atmos sound, big screen far enough to seat first row, perfect for Q&As... What more do you want?? Check USCs schedule of events for movies shown here, ALWAYS FREE but some only for students, but only like 20%. Ah! And it's also 3D capable!
One of the BEST venues to experience film. Not a bad seat in the house!
Had a great experience first time in the theater first time watching "Possession" my wife and I had a really special night out
