They don’t even deserve one star the place is a joke. Had three different appointments rescheduled on me waiting to get in there. So three months later I finally see a doctor and tells me who tells me I am fine because I was able to tell him the date and then he just gave me referrals to other people the entire time what a complete fraud and waste of time going here was. I feel like I was robbed
The staff was friendly. Dr Smith was pleasant, thorough and spoke with common sense. He answered my questions and took as much time as needed to do a good evaluation. His recommendations were reasonable. I was comfortable with his conclusions. He listened to my concerns and responded to my satisfaction.
Dr. Bellini is the only reason I will go back. The office staff and nurses do not answer phones and have horrible phone etiquette. They put in a new prescription to my CVS and never notified me of the change. I would have had no idea if I wasnt going to pick up a different med. They are rude on the phone and it takes many calls over several weeks for them to answer.
I want to give credit due to the friendly staff who copied my piles of paperwork and returned it in the mail. Beyond that, I do not recommend this office. I appreciated that Dr. Dexter Hu took an additional hour with me on our first tele-health video appointment. After that, I felt like each appointment was more unfriendly and rushed than the last. My actual in-person assessment went very poorly. Aside from the fact I felt patronized, I felt that there was an inappropriate level of grievances regarding other patients' conduct, and a total lack of transparency that made me feel like a criminal suspect. This felt nightmarish to me. I was so overwhelmed and anxious by the time I was set to do basic testing for ADHD and other conditions that I completely botched one of the answer sheets. Furthermore, I was sent out into a frequently trafficked hallway near the elevators and waiting area to complete the tests. Again, I have diagnosed adult ADHD. Furthermore, I felt my privacy and health were both compromised by the situation. I was told another patient may be joining me in the hall to complete their tests. The entire experience left me jangled and spiraling into a mental health crisis which ended in my eventually reporting the issue. I have been to three neuropsychologists and several neurologists in my adult life, and never have I experienced that kind of demoralizing treatment. Confidentiality, security, and transparency were always of utmost concern. My time as a patient with Northshore conclude with a phonecall a couple weeks later, where I was told I couldn't switch doctors within the office because if I "fired one," I "fired everyone". I was not made aware of this policy at the outset, and I have never encountered it elsewhere.
It is next to impossible to get your prescriptions called in. I have had to go without mine for over a week in the past even after calling every single day to tell them they need filled. It always takes them over 4 days of constant calls before they fill medications. It is the same issue every month. You're pretty screwed if you try and leave a message on the prescription line they never call it in. My advice would be call and leave the medication refill information at the front desk.
I gave 2 stars because not every visit is as bad as this one. I brought my loved one in for help with her Alzheimer's. They would not give us an afternoon appointment. She can't do morning since the Alzheimer's advanced. So I got her up and tried to get her here. We were 18 minutes late. They refused to see her. So they made us a "late" appointment 12:30. So she was sobbing but I got her here still too early on time. We have been here over an hour and have only seen the nurse. I went out and asked how long it was going to be, and they went to find out. Again, radio silence. If they are going to treat Alzheimer's maybe they should understand the stress they are adding to the patients and caregivers and try to be helpful instead of harmful. We are at 70 minutes waiting now and still no one...UPDATE: Apparently the person with whom we had an appointment is not able to see her. So they are trying to find a doctor. UPDATE: The person we were supposed to see didn't know we were here so she left. Apparently no one noticed the patient in the room and no provider. For over an hour.
We love Dr. Phinney, but it is nearly impossible to get prescription refills called in. When you call in, they send you to an automated voicemail that must drop calls into space because no one ever takes care of them. We have been here over 2 years and I have had trouble EVERY time I have needed meds filled. This is patients mental health they are playing with!
Possibly the best neurologist in the medical field. They changed my wife's meds one day one from being there and she went from having all sorts of seizures on a daily occurrence too having only a few over a 10 year period. The answer the questions, provides excellent information, & are very helpful as well as knowledgeable in their field.
If only I could give 0 stars.
Don't go to Dr. Mailliard if you're an adult with ADHD. My impression was he's one of those people who seems nice and professional at first but by my third appointment I felt like he was kind of phony and didn't really know what he was talking about.
