The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are very human and they are always patient, kind, professional. We have been here two months since my nephew's diagnosis and we have no negative comments. I am grateful for all the attention received by the doctors, nurses, cleaning staff. I just have to say thank you.
I recently had surgery here, and honestly I have mixed feelings. All medical professionals were great. Shout out to Ruby a nurse technician on extended recovery! You were an absolute angel to me and never rushed me when I needed help. Keep on being amazing! Now to the part I didn't love. Some of the hospital policies are absolutely stupid. They try to get every last penny from you. Be aware that if you are self pay you're going to pay a hefty bill, and it will need to be paid upfront.
I have been in the woman's center for the 3 days, after having mastectomy and reconstruction surgery, from breast cancer. Every person I have interacted with has been kind, respectful, professional, and positive. From the receptionist Sunshine, the pre-op nursing staff, custodial to cafeteria, techs, and especially, my night nurse, Sam and day nurse, Jessica. They have gone above and beyond everyday, checking and double checking to ensure all is well with me and that I am comfortable. They helped make an uncertain time be warm and comfortable. I am so thankful for them.
I am an employee of Northside Hospital and I had the most horrible experience in the ER yesterday. I was there 8 hours with the suspicion of a broken foot. I was there for 8 hours and still did not see anyone. I was so disappointed with the care at this hospital. There was a lady in the ER visibly and audibly vomiting in a vomit bag and no one came to her aid. She finally went to the bathroom and you could still hear her regurgitating. Finally someone came to her aid when they could not get into the bathroom. She had passed out. I finally left because I was there for 8 hours and they told me 9 people were ahead of me. Shameful......never I have I ever experienced anything like this. Such a disgrace and embarrassment to be employed by such an institution.
My daughter had hip surgery on Friday 10/28. Although the surgeon was wonderful, I'm frustrated with the rest of the staff. They didn't feed her anything until Saturday afternoon after I kept asking horrible, gross food. She was to be on the ortho floor, but due to lack of beds she was on floor 7. The nurses aren't being careful with her, not supporting her leg, and she's in a lot of pain. No one seems to know what to do with her from a PT standpoint. PT has only been in 2x and we've been here 48 hours. Her current nurse Amy seems to be wonderful and communicating as much as she can. If I ever need surgery or have an emergency, I really hope I don't need to come here.
I had to go to the ER this Thursday and the intake staff was excellent. The doctor & PA was wonderful. My only complaint was a nurse in the pink jacket. I was told that I was already giving my pain medicine only for someone to come and give it to me a hour later. This was after I was told to very rude & dryly that I was already put in my IV which I knew was a lie but what can you do when your in pain and barely can speak! In 2022 black women are still not taking serious about their pain levels and that’s very concerning. Lucky the Dr. Jordan was wonderful along with the PA that day. The nurse not so much so!
Lackadaisical care. A nurse may or may not come in every hour. They’ll leave call buttons hanging out of reach and make sure you have a disconnected phone so you’re stuck. You’ll be responsible for finding your own rehab care facility as they wont verify insurance for you so you’ll spend hours on the phone or on line. They’ll schedule intense OT and PT back to back then note that you’re denying participating in one or the other which leaves a black mark on your chart. The staff will complain to your spouse behind the patients back. The entire operating rhythm of this hospital is a disaster.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I am appreciate that. Especially, I want to thank you Ms Elissa, she work in pediatric ICU. she’s a good nurse, so patient and kindness. Thanks again. The security lady was very helpful. Thanks all of your guys.
I had surgery there. All of the people I came in contact with were professional, helpful, caring and kind. The nurse staff was amazing. They were also thorough. I felt in good hand during my stay there.
There was a staff member on the 29th of November that was sitting at the admissions desk during 6-7 am. The absolute rudest and worst attitude ever displayed every time we have encountered him. My mother usually receives her chemotherapy and is unable to stay calm without the reassurance of my father in the, however, he COMMANDED my father to step out in a very rude manner and without an explanation. This morning my mother was scheduled for an EKG appointment at Northside Hospital, however, they had gotten lost and was trying to ask for directions and help at the admissions desk. We were once again greeted with an obnoxious attitude saying we weren't in the system and, "I'll SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME MA'AM YOU ARE NOT IN THE SYSTEM CALL BACK TO THIS NUMBER". I'm sorry but my parents were very respectful in trying to explain how they are sure they have an appointment here but are just lost and need directions. He had no right to cut them off multiple times behaving like they were people without any sense of knowledge and intelligence. He continuously shooed off my parents and told us to go home and call another hospital. We were only able to get the exact building and help we needed when we met a few ladies that showed us which section we were supposed to be in. Ironically, we were right, we WERE scheduled to be here. If someone from management reads this, I suggest you have a good talk and warning with this particular gentleman, it's because of people like this that patients have such a hard time asking for help
