It affords the best in emergency ambulance service and inter-facility transfer services throughout the region.
The CEMS has an unrestricted operating certificate to provide ambulance service in the 1700 square miles of New York City, Nassau and Suffolk Counties. CEMS employs more than 500 Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics who operate over 110 available response units and responds to more than 120,000 requests for service a year.
CEMS is the only ambulance service in NY State to be duly accredited by the Commission on Accreditations of Ambulance Services (CAAS), and the National/International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE). CEMS has established and achieved a high standard of excellence at both the dispatch and communication levels affirmed by these certifications. CEMS exemplifies the best in patient care.
