Probably the worst, least willing to work with you court ever. HORRENDOUS people
Seemed like a decent courthouse over all. The staff I encountered were friendly and pleasant and helpful doesn’t give you a hard time. And the public defender is readily available to help you without having to go out of your way to solicit!
Shame on you Hazel Park parking... People just moved in next door yesterday... They don't know about trash day parking just yet... But of course what happens they're giving a ticket for parking on the road. Let him know first or give them a warning. My God you're here to help us. Shame on you.
This is ridiculous. I appeared for my zoom court date and followed all instructions as mandated beforehand. And I'm not even on the Magistrates docket. I was then directed to call the court clerk's and get another date, I suppose. I say I suppose because I have been on hold for literally 41 minutes now in a continuous loop as no one EVER answers the phones. It can't possibly be that busy there. It's almost as if they want you to give up so you can be in more trouble than you're already in. I would give negative stars if I could. This district court is a joke.. all for a ticket that I don't even think I deserved, but that's neither here nor there. Why even employ "clerks", you can get the same amount of productivity from houseplants.
I'd give them a negative rating if I could. The incompetence is just astounding, gave my wife a parking ticket parked on private property mind you, called to figure out why... they don't have the ticket, another department does. Call the department and get the same answer. Done this three times for this ticket. Now I get a stiffed with a $305 fine? Only answers you get are either "I don't know" or "I'm sorry but _____"... do yourself a favor and just call a lawyer.
Whoever was on the phone for clerk office at 3:45 pm. Pretty rude.
I called to make an appointment for someone else, the woman on the phone told me that person had to call...why? I've scheduled appts for others before because people with learning disabilities have a hart enough time. When I asked why she said she just started and thats what she was told. Its scheduling for a court date not jail! This is ridiculous, other than Ferndale they are the worst.
Unorganized! Rude staff! Make sure you keep a copy of your receipts, the short haired blonde female process my payment for $15 less than what I gave her. Gave me an attitude when I asked her about it. I called and spoke to someone else and they fixed the issue and said they had no idea why she would process it the way she did and she should’ve known better. That female should NOT be working for the public with the nasty attitude that she constantly displayed. But I guess that’s better than having her on the streets harassing EVERYONE.
Got a BS ticket for going 50mph on 8 mile. Like why is the speed limit 40 on 8 mile - oh right - speed trap. City making money off unsuspecting suckers who happen to drive through HPark big mistake. But the cop was very nice and the court clerks are VERY nice. I had paid a ticket late - putting me in default yay lets pay even more money!!! and that sweet girl Courtney actually got my home phone number and left me a message at home so my licence would not be suspended. Really? When does that ever happen? Called the clerks office to thank them and let them know I would be getting them even more cash - and Donna was also very nice. You know if you are NICE to people - they are nice to you. Tickets suck but the experience was made better by the people who work there. Thank you - T. Kizewski, Warren, MI
Make sure to save all receipts for any tickets you receive because they'll try to charge you more for "not paying." Apparently they don't keep good records for people who have paid their ticket. Received notice that a $35 parking ticket is now $85 because nobody showed up to court. This ticket was paid 3 hours after it was issued and was only charged $15 for some "3 day rule" and the balance due was now 0. Having to waste gas and time to take this receipt in to fight it now. City doesn't care about its citizens, just the dollars they can squeeze from them.
