I lived on S. Elgin back in 92 I never knew of the tragedies that occurred in 1921 . I use to walk around that cemetery and you could just feel the sadness there. Because people were buried there, unknown to the world. No marker's for their names sake.
This is one of the most important cemeteries in Tulsa. Many if the cities founding men and their families are located here. It is a shame it does not have a better, stone wall to protect it. I know vandals hit here years ago. A great afternoon stroll by the Veterans association.
Amazing place.
Between a 1920's historic district and a park with a mysterious basement.
Possible site of victims of the Tulsa Race Massacre.
just visiting family
