What an awesome place right off Route 66! John is such an awesome, kind guy, with lots of neat stories to tell and sweet advice to give! The work he has put into his place for others to see is amazing. So much of it he built and made himself. You really can learn a lot and get some great photo opps! Definitely recommend to anyone in the area or passing through. Would love to stop by and see John and his sweet doggy again. :
Bizarre, worth a stop. I wasn't sure if it was somebody's home or a business? It was on a little map showing local places of interest so I did walk around a bit and looked at the decorations. I will say this, who ever did all of this work is a genius, and has a knack for producing fun art. Very interesting, an open sign in the window would be super helpful because I would have loved to see what was inside the buildings!
Fun, quirky place. The kids didn't think they would like it-but after they got there they did like it! John is a friendly man and his dog is very calm. He then directed us to part of the original highway 66!
My grandfather took me here as a child, 12 years since his passing I visited with my wife just last week. Owner was just as nice and friendly as I remembered when I was a kid. If you are traveling down route 66 In Arcadia stop by and give him a visit. You won't regret it. He is a very talented and friendly man. All of his welded art work is home made by him. Truly nostalgic experience!
Owner John Hargrove is quite a character and his place has plenty of character too. Kitschy and quirky from the buried VW, the fun van that was an inspiration for the Cars movie, and an abundance of of other off the wall things. He’s 77 but still runs 6 miles a day five days a week. He’ll give you a great tour of his antiques and Route 66 menagerie too.
Amazing retirement project by John. Very kind person, lots of his inventions to see. What a neat place. John is so talented. We throughly enjoyed walking around his property and seeing all the weird signs and creations. Such a neat place and nice guy. We loved this stop on our road trip. Might even have been our favorite.
This place is amazing, the guy who runs it is the most pleasant guy around and loves to tell you about route 66 and the old days. Ask about his 3 wheel car which he made himself. A real craftsman
John really have an amazing place, everything made it by him... he is also a Wonderful person... My kids enjoyed his museum and over everything loved to talk to him, he answered all their questions... Highly Recommended...
