Simply amazing and beautiful. Even though this museum was closed permanently when i visited the outside views and construction was aw inspiring and jaw dropping. I’ve been downtown Dallas numerous times and never really paid attention to this building until today and I couldn’t believe my eyes. This is a great place to visit especially for photographers.
Dallas County Courthouse is one of the historic buildings in Dallas. It is just beside the Dealy plaza. It is also known as Old Red Courthouse or Old Red Museum. Went there while visiting Dallas in the evening. Since it was after hours, it was closed. We roamed around the courthouse and admired the architecture. Street parking is available.
I like the construction but I'm not sure if I agree with the location. Sure it's a lovely place but too different in comparison with the neighborhood. Maybe it is the point of being so spectacular.
Dallas County Courthouse Texas The Dallas County Courthouse, built in 1892 of red sandstone with rusticated marble accents, is a historic governmental building located at 100 South Houston Street in Dallas, Texas. Also known as the Old Red Courthouse, it became the Old Red Museum, a local history museum, in 2007. It was designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture by architect Max A. Lucy who work in the law library is extremely rude! I was respectful to her and she refuse to assist me with providing me the paper I needed to copy. I am still confused as the why she ignored me. However, the older man who work with her is a sweetheart and he help immediately after he noticed her unprofessional behavior. I made a complaint to the supervisor and she wasn't sympathetic at all. She could care less...I hope someone so something about it! This is not my first bad experience with her and I'm not the only one. She behave as if she hate people and don't love her job
Clean with courteous staff. If you like jury duty, you'll love this place. Parking is decent.
It was quick and I was out 30 minutes after going in.
Discrimination was abolished years ago unless your a man in divorce court facing a woman judge and of course they all favor the woman no matter what.
"The Old Red Courthouse", as Dallasites like myself call it, is a historic building under renovation right now. I'm not sure what they use "The Old Red Courthouse" for anymore but it doesn't matter to me. I think the architecture is so beautiful. It's a keeper and I'm happy that the City of Dallas, Texas feels the way I do.
This place looked more like a castle to me at first. However, as I entered the place, I was fascinated with the history it has. The files and exhibits were really amazing.
