Here’s a little background. I’ve been involved in ceramics for about 30 yrs (yikes!). I took classes in high school and minored in college. Since college Pottery has always been a part time thing so I have tendency to dabble with many different inspirations/idea/techniques vs. seriously honing in a specific direction. If I had to describe my direction, I would say that I always start with a functional idea (bottle, plate, vase ect.) and then I alter proportions and add various construction techniques /decorations to make the pieces more a standalone piece of artwork vs. a function item. Sometimes this can be very subtle and other times more extreme.
