Absolutely avoid selling to this place !! I called at 10:06 am to verify what they were buying and if they were accepting things before I made a 30 minute drive . Now mind you I explained this to the lady on the phone. Fast forward to 1132, when i arrive with the Graco double stroller I was selling , and they say they are no longer accepting items. I explain I just called and the lady try to say well You called hours ago. I proceeded to pull my phone out and correct her . After that they were rude and nasty . I drove 30 minutes and wasted my time for nothing. And there is no customer service . This place deserves zero stars!!

I use to shop and sell here often but the last couple of times my interactions with the staff has been ridiculous. When I go to sell I'm there when they open with 1 bin. They will automatically set me to come back vs staying in the store. The last time I asked why did my bin get pushed aside when I clearly was here before many of the customers and she tells me because the size of my bin. After standing back and observing the sales associate doing my bin is doing 1000 other things like answering phone, conversating, picking up dropped clothes. What she then offers me for majority of my bin is very insulting when I've sold less for the same amount. But what took the cake was when I got home to go through the stuff that didn't sell I had alot of little girl items in my bin. I have boys no girls. This is the 2nd time it's happened and honestly makes me angry because some of my stuff could be included in someone else's sell just because the associate is lazy or mad at the amount of things that was brought in.

RACIST and wishy-washy.  They turn me away everytime I attempt to sell items. Practically new items!! I spoke to a lady on the phone at 1pm to ask when they were closing. She said the sale counter closes at 4pm because they were closing at 5pm. I literally came to the store at 2pm and was IMMEDIATELY turned away even though on the phone she said they were accepting equipment. I had a baby swing and bassinet.  Just donate to the Goodwill or Salvation Army.

I will be taking my business elsewhere after repeatedly being unable to sell old clothes and toys here… they have an okay selection of clothes and items for purchase, but selling stuff to them has gotten so difficult over the last few months. Would not recommend them.

I really like shopping here for my kids clothes and shoes. Sometimes I find really good stuff and sometimes I don’t but it’s like thrifting/ treasure hunting. They also have great sales every month. I bought my son a huge bag of duplo legos probably $80 worth retail and it was only $10. I wish their toy section was a little more organized however. I’ve been to a couple OUAC all over the US and some of them have them organized by bins and the outside bins will say what kind of toys are inside. This location really has you digging through and the only thing that is organized is the puzzles/games. I know it must be hard because you have little kids messing it up but a little more care would go a long way. For selling I’ve had mixed experiences. I’ve had great selling days where I make a good amount of money and they take everything mostly clothes. My bad experience is driving all the way there and their buying counter is closed. I wish on their Instagram or Facebook they would post “buying counter closed.” Just a heads up would be awesome. I’ve called and been told it’s open and when I get there it’s closed which is very annoying. I don’t suggest for anyone to sell their equipment here if you expect a bigger payout. They buy the item from you and give you a small percentage and have to resell that item and also make a profit and keep prices low for the customers. If you expect to make more money off your stuff sell it yourself on Facebook market place or offer up. Overall a good experience here.

I will not be going back to this location ever again. I’m pregnant and had to use the restroom really bad, and considering it’s a child store they would understand. How do you tell a pregnant lady that’s 9 months they can’t use the bathroom. Ridiculous.

Don’t waste your time coming to sell anything here. Called 5 min before showing up to make sure the sell counter was opened and asked if there were any restrictions! Lady said no and to come on in they were taking everything. Showed up with my two kids in toe and 3 boxes of toys and clothes to sell, they stopped me and said they were only taking one bin. I told the lady how did that change when I called 5 min before coming inside and they told me different. This is the 5th time I’ve come on different days of the week and have been lied to on the phone. Not shopping or selling my stuff at this location anymore, completely wast of time and effort just to be pushed out of the door time and time again. Chesapeake location is way better and honest. I will only bring my business there from now on.

I went there for the first time and sold them some very nice clothes hardly used and they only gave me $3.00 for the clothes. Then put them on the floor to sell for a way higher price smh I will not be back.

Pictures are an example of the quality products I tried to trade in. Lots of Carter's, Disney, etc brand name clothes, some only worn ONCE no stains etc!! I had read LOTS of reviews stating how this store was racist and thought they were an exaggeration until this last visit. I called TWICE ahead of time asking about selling my children's clothes and even gave them the size of the clothes that I wished to sell. Over the phone they sounded eager to view my clothes. When I got there they told me the expected wait time was about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes and not enough time to even go through the huge volume of my things later, I got the text message came up to the front and was told that their inventory had filled up umm what?. Their inventory that was *an hour prior* accepting clothes in my children's sizes as per the telephone conversation I had just AN HOUR PRIOR repeated for emphasis. Ok. When I brought this fact up, that I called up and asked to their manager she brushed me off, grabbed my inventory and said she would look it over again. I knew nothing would actually be looked at because at this point, I saw on her face that she wanted nothing to do with me or my things. When I came back to collect the things, which again were pretty much untouched in their bags I doubt they reorder/pile clothes exactly as you pack them--so good job not even LOOKING like you tried they gave me NO explanation; before I can even ask for the manager, who SAW ME SEE HER, she changed direction and rushed to get onto the phone. I used to spend hundreds of dollars in the store and will never shop there again as a result of the horrendous treatment of their customers. I wasn't at all rude when I spoke to them on the phone or in person when I complained they hadn't gone through my things the first time...they were not busy the day I went in and there is no excuse for not even looking at my things, as again they were still put exactly the way I placed them in the bags I brought them in. Do yourself a favor and go to any other store. ANY OTHER STORE. Their customer service, attitudes, and blatant dislike of anyone who looks even remotely different is egregious, insulting and disgusting. Shame on you Once Upon a Child. I used to love your store. I will now let everyone I know hear about your horrible practices and you're horrible customer service. If this stops at least one person from going shopping at your terrible store I will be happy. Karma does come around eventually...

This is a parents dream. Especially if you are on a budget but want your child to have some amazing clothes. This store has it all from gently used to brand new items and the staff is amazing. Come by and see what they have to offer. Once Upon A Child is here for you and your child.
