I went here as a child over 10 years ago i believe. Fast forward and my sister worked here for over a year. This facility is excellent, and if I had children wanting to try gymnastics, I would take them here.
I enrolled my daughter in gymnastics here when her soccer season ended and I wanted her to keep staying active. They have a great facility and it seems pretty popular, the classes are always full and the walls are decorated with all kinds of awards so I’d say they must be doing a good job. My daughter loves doing the gymnastics and as a single father I appreciate that they offer day camps for the younger kids whenever school is out. I’ve got my daughter enrolled for 6 out of the 8 days they offer over winter break because it sure beats sending her to daycare when she is used to her preschool routine.
It is a good institution for gymnastics. My daughter started from zero and I found the education very professional.
Excellent gymnastics program and Coaches. I am grateful that OGA chose to open at the earliest opportunity during this pandemic, even when other gyms were closed for several more months. It shows the level of organization, detail and planning they undertook to ensure our children did not lose their hard earned skills. OGA re-opened with enhanced cleaning, and mandated that all staff and gymnasts wear masks to ensure the gym can remain open without Covid-19 outbreaks. So far everyone has remained healthy!! Kudos to this club for keeping our children safe while ensuring the kids can continue to do what they love. Thank you Nicholas Pudewell & Irina for your dedication and care.
My daughter went here for gymnastics classes from around 3 to 4 years of age. I think it is a great place to introduce your kid to gymnastics. Teachers try to mix up gymnastics learning with fun activities for little kids. The place seems very well equipped for all ages and stages. There is a vast schedule to choose from, for each class. Their make up policy is very generous too. I have attended birthday parties here as well and the kids always had fun. Seemed well organized and the hosts seemed enthusiastic. There were some issues for me though. My child needed a little bit of hand holding since she takes time to warm up. And I don't think teachers are trained to handle younger kids that way. That was not a problem for most parents of course, but it was for me. Second, the viewing gallery for parents is too chaotic. That's the waiting area for parents and also has a small ball pit area. It's also where kids are taking off their jackets, shoes etc and putting them in cubbies. Teachers are taking kids through this area to walk to the other side of the gym. It gets way too crowded and chaotic. They really should streamline that area.
So happy masks are still worn at OGA! It makes me feel safe. I feel bad for the people who miss out on such a great experience because of their fear of safety. If I can wear a mask while training 22 hours a week you can wear one while sitting in the bleachers.
I went to this gym in 2017. I was in the xcel program and was around 11 years old at the time, it was one of my best experiences in my life. I loved my coaches and teammates, if I could I would've stayed longer. The only thing that was a continuous problem was finding parking, but the gym and staff were absolutely fantastic!
I have been very pleased with oregon gymnastics academy for my two young children on 6 & 3 years of age. My daughter comes here weekly for class and gets lots of personalized attention from the young coaches. She is progressing well and learning many skills. Also love the open gym on weekends for 1.5 hours of upod exercise fir my 3 year old son!
The gym is wonderful but when my daughter was going there for a whole year she really didn't learn anything a lot of the instructors are in and out they keep changing teachers constantly so she has no common ground . Once she gets a good teacher gets changed out to another teacher that's like a cheerleader not even a gymnastics teacher . I believe they do not challenge the kids enough . They just keep teaching the same thing over and over and it's so basic that my daughter is very very sports active and wasn't able to learn anything she is on the swim team in the Advance very quickly because she had great teachers I believe that their teachers do not teach how to Advance . Very very basic stuff, they need to teach them how to advance they need to challenge them Waymore
This was an amazing experience and still is the coaching staff always help out and are very kind. If any of the people I know were interested in gymnastics I would recommend because it is great.
