Was ignored for six hours until I was bawling my eyes out, the ambulance treated me horribly , laughed about my situation and spoke to me so rudely, left out all the details my mom told them too. I passed out and they didn’t mention it once, they sent me home after doing nothing and said it was nothing. Went to another ER just a few days later for the same issue that they ignored and turns out I have tachycardia. Wearing a heart monitor now. They are awful.
I came to visit e.r. with my fiancee who has severe abdominal pain that's progressing worse. The staff of osf has majority of the emergency room parking spots so there wasn't a single place to park. Ridiculous to have an e.r. parking lot packed full of employee vehicles that potential patients can't park. Especially with another hospital next door. Total lack of competition, they blatantly don't want you to be there.
My father in law went to OSF ER in early Dec. for obvious signs of heart failure which they did not treat. They gave him blood for his blood disorder and were told he was going to be admitted. BUT they discharged him at 2am put him in a cab and sent him home. He lives a good 25 miles from the hospital. The taxi dropped him off, the house was locked and he couldn't get in. It was below freezing that night but luckily after pounding on the door his wife woke up and let him in. I was shocked that they would put an 83 year old man in a taxi in the middle of the night. A week later we took him to Pekin hospital and he had almost 3 liters of fluid drained from his lungs due to congestive heart failure. I have made many visits to OSF ER with my own parents over the years and some were good visits and some not. The last time my mother was there, they shocked her 3xs to get her heart back into rythym with no medication. By the time I got there she was so scared and hysterical, she would not let me leave the room. She really thought they were trying to kill her. My mother was of sound mind till the day she died so she wasn't imagining any of this. After about 12 hours, I needed to make some phone calls and get something to eat. When I returned they had stuck a nebulizer treatment over her face and when I returned she was visibly choking on phlegm and with her restricted abilities to be able to grasp things she was unable to use the call button or pull the mask off her face. I grabbed the mask off of her and pressed every button on the wall. they came running for a code blue but she was choking and I didn't know what to do. I asked them why they would put that on her unattended or at least leave the door open so they can check on her. It was open when I left but they gave me a lame hospital policy excuse. I spent 4 days with her in the dungeons of the ER because of a flu pandemic. She passed away a week later. This was 2018. I am giving 3 stars because we have had some good visits but on these 2 occasions what happened should have never happened. And honestly does anyone read the notes in their chart before they come into the room? Every doctor/nurse asks the same questions and you explain everything over and over. One night after several hours in the ER and admitted to one floor then moved to an intermediate floor I probably answered the same questions 10xs. The nurse in the first room rolled her eyes at my mom when she asked her to move her leg onto the pillow. Mind you my mom could not walk. I bit my tongue because I know my mom was alot but still.
Just had very good experience. Visited with symptoms from opioid withdrawal which usually triggers HC personel to treat you like s??? These guys were friendly and professional the entire time which felt a little strange. Anyway they gave me a weeks worth of medication and guidance for where to go moving forward. Very impressed
Came in at noon to the emergency room on a Friday. And had to wait till 3am Saturday morning for a MRI totally unprofessional. And here it is about 6am and still no results. Definitely needs work
Sitting here waiting for a couple hours for them to see my mom and I'm amazed at how these nurses and other medical people handle all the difficult people that come in. They get yelled at and treated terribly but the react with kindness, gentleness and patience. Truly they know their calling.
They were great. I came in with an artery bleed in my leg and the got me stitched right up. Wonderful pleasant attitudes from the start. Even when my blood squirted 3 feet when I first checked in. The nurses, doctors, and staff were very kind all the way through.
Great if your a child, pediatrics are amazing however if your an adult you better look elsewhere rude staff, telling a pregnant patient who was brought in by ambulance due to a car accident that because she isn’t 20 weeks along that it doesn’t really matter that you are experiencing signs of a miscarriage! Waited in the emergency department waiting area for over 6 hours and had not been seen by anyone refused her water bc she needed to wait to see a doctor however she was extremely tired and in pain with other symptoms from the wreck! I do not recommend this hospital for anyone over the age of 12!
When we left emergency roomNurse or whatever he was when he took out my IV out of my armHe took the tape loose on one side Then he rippedThe iv And the other side of the tape out in one quick jerk Yeah. He was a jerkI had warned him that I have Factor 7 That is a bleeding disorder if you ask me He should lose days at work for he Did lose days of pay and workIf not get fired for he did as soon as left the room I bleed bad my wife help clean me up .this was June 9 2022 about 10:30 pm. It's been 3 months and they haven't even gave me a survey yet they probably know better don't understand this place
As an overnight in patient with a/fib, I was tied down with a IV pole, and was unable to get any rest because female staff made no effort to be quiet. They talked and laughed at full volume all night long. It should have been quiet, offering the opportunity to rest/sleep. Also I didn't have the opportunity to visit the rest room until shortly before being discharged.
