I have gone to OLofF hospital emergency room and received very good care there on two occasions. I recommend this hospital not only for their thorough exam but also for it's kind and gentle staff. No one there has ever been rude, haughty, dismissive, or irritable even when they are very busy and short staffed. This attitude sets Fatima apart from my local hospital ER and others.
Most awful hospital, could’ve died before anyone even cared. Out of state, got dropped off with ny newborn & 7yo excruciating kidney pain got taken in by ambulance. They wouldn’t take me right in, some guy & lady are arguing over their job. I get dropped off to die with my infant & small child in waiting area. If I could’ve waited, I wouldn’t have called 911. After rolling on the floor, crying in pain.. I begged someone to get my IV out had 2 placed in ambulance I took Uber to my hotel, passed stones in excruciating pain. Got into my car at 3am & headed back to VT where they would never treat a human like garbage disposal. NOT ONE PERSON CAME TO ASK ARE MY CHILDREN OK seeing me puking, crying & rolling around. Shame on ALL the night staff, shut your doors.
On Tuesday I was driven to the ER because I have covid and was in respiratory distress. First of all, going into the ER area I had to sign into a book and wait to be called, thought it was a little odd but wasn't too bothered by it. What I was bothered by is when I was called up yo be registered, they have it set up so two patients sit side by side, and each register to one of the 2 secretaries... first off that is a HIPAA violation. Second, I was covid positive and had to register sitting next to an elderly man.. uncomfortable is an understatement. I had my body turned away from him the whole time the best I could while talking to the lady behind the window. The lady who registered me was not wearing a mask, at one point came around and crouched right next to me to talk about something I had to sign.... I had covid. She shouldn't be that close to me without a mask..? When I was brought back into the exam room, I had my vitals and temp checked, and was told a doctor will see me shortly. I know they are short staffed, I really feel for them ... but I was never told there was a call button in my room or where it was, I do not frequently go to the ER so I did not know. After over an hour of waiting, I really had to use the bathroom. I have an overactive bladder. I didn't feel well enough to get up out of bed and open the door and ask someone, so I sat patiently waiting, in agony from holding my bladder for so long. Someone eventually knocked and came in, at this point all I could say as soon as I saw her was "can i please use the bathroom?" She looked taken aback, and said before I go to the bathroom she needs to talk to me she then started arguing with me. I said please I am going to pee my pants, I had to plead with her for a good minute or so- I was starting to cry at this point. she said since i have covid i cannot use the restroom, said she will get something.. Which is odd, They let me register next to an elderly man but I cannot use the restroom? about 10-15 mins later a nurse opened the door and asked if i need to use the bathroom, I said yes please. She said okay, here ya go and put a portable toilet in the room and promptly shut the door, I had nothing to wipe myself with after so I had to just pull up my pants after doing my business and went back on the bed. 20 or so minutes later, someone else knocked and opened the door, said that theyre gonna do a chest xray for me, but first to take a pregnancy test if theres any chance of pregnancy- I forget how it came out but I ended up telling her that I was never given anything to wipe myself with after using the portable toilet. she looked shocked and said she will get me some tissues and shes so sorry. I really appreciated her kindness. The only kind person in the ER. After my chest xray, I waited for over an hour, at this point I was starting to feel pretty dehydrated, I was never offered water or given a chance to ask for some. Since i did not know where or if there was even a call button, I am now shaking and crying at this point, I really wanted some water and to go home. I heard someone go to the room next to me and say, "you called?" an elderly male voice said he is hungry. The lady left the room, I could hear her mocking him to her coworkers. I pressed the staff emergency button i saw on the wall, a couple of minutes later someone opened the door and asked what's going on, I said can I please have water and can I please leave? 1 minute later a nurse comes in and discharges me and apologized for the wait. I had a roller-coaster of emotions experiencing this, I felt compassion for the staff, I could feel their stress. But I was also so disappointed about the neglect I experienced. Update: went to a different ER Sunday night, less than a week after being at Fatima ER, and there was indeed something wrong, they absolutely did not do their due diligence to see what could actually be going on. If you need the ER I encourage you to not go there. I absolutely refuse to go here again.
They treated my uncle with great care, respect and hospitality. They kept the family up to date and informed on all procedures and progress every day. Everyone from the doctors, nurses, cnas, security and all staff were friendly and helpful.
I went in for a colonoscopy at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, my experience there was excellent, the staff was excellent, the procedure went very smoothly, and was done promptly. I have absolutely no complaints about my time at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. I would also like to thank the staff for making my visit there as comfortable as possible,
Very disappointed, we had a Chinese doctor and he was lost he didn't know what the patient had,he was lost and I told him if he doesn't know what she has to send her to ri hospital. To make it worst they switch nurses and gave us this guy omgggg this hospital needs a good supervisor on the floor the patient had the machine beeping and he wouldn't even care until we called him..
My mom was in the CCU until she passed. She had a cardic arrest and never recovered.I cannot say enough good things about the staff in the CCU. They were kind and compassnate and took outstanding care of my mom. They also were so good to us as well. UT was a very difficult time. But with their help we got through it. Special thanks to Mike who was there at the end. And Dr Calikyan who kept us informed and was genuinely compassionate. Thank you all again.
Staff was very nice, efficient and very calm putting me at easy before my surgery. Everything was also very clean which was a huge plus. My only complaint is my surgery started well over 3 hours late, which caused me to be discharged after 8:30 at night which was very rough being in so much pain to not get home until almost 10pm after having to get the prescriptions and also not having eaten since 6am that morning. Other then that, the rest of my time there was fine and the staff I had was great.
I went in with severe abdominal pain, vomiting and fevers. I signed in, there was only one other person waiting. I needed a bathroom desperately but there were none in the waiting room and no one was in the triage room. After about 45 minutes I found a registration person to let me in the back to use the bathroom. The triage nurse finally called me in, took my vital signs and told me to go back into the waiting room. I asked if I could stay in the “flex” area where the bathroom was. The triage nurse took her coffee out of the room and not one single person was seen for over an hour! I was vomiting and in severe pain. I ask a LPN if I could get some fluids and Zofran. She basically was extremely rude to me and said “We are on downtime!” It was about another 45 minutes before a nurse came out asked me my name and got me to a room. Once I was in an ER bed, it was completely different! The doctor came over right away, got me to CT Scan, fluids, Zofran and pain meds all within 45 minutes. The nurses were wonderful and quick. I was admitted with a perforated diverticulitis which could have been deadly so the fact that triage was not triaging correctly, concerns me! I was extremely surprised and happy on the care that I received once I was admitted. Ceclia on 7p-7a was wonderful! Always explaining the plan and what she was doing. They powered through “downtime” along with my doctor and his PA.
I had fantastic care in the ER after a severe hand injury. The nurses and PA were outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for better care. Thank you!
