I am a traveler in the healthcare industry. My husband is on medical leave. He found this place while I was at work and purchased season memberships in mid June. We had NO idea that the pool/park was closing on July 30. I was only able to go about 4x due to my work sked plus trying to work that around the days the pool was open. We had a FANTASTIC time here. The water quality was always pristine even with the amount of people who went swimming here. The pool was very staffed with friendly lifeguards and everyone there including the Sandbar employees were great. We had a lot of fun here. There was plenty of lounge chairs spread out over the property plus some large shaded areas but you needed to get here early. The restrooms were immaculate plus they had lockers bring your own lock if you wanted to lock your items up. This wasn’t really necessary, however, as the clientele was family oriented and friendly. We felt safe the entire time. It’s very sad that this beautiful place closes on July 30. It seems like a huge waste of resources to open this large facility on Memorial Day only to close it 2 months later. We’re really sad about this. I get that the lifeguards go back to school but why not keep it open on the weekends at least? There are no water parks or decent pools to go to around Columbia. I wish we could use the Legion Pool with season passes even if we paid more just to be in a “safe” and friendly environment. We would definitely purchase another season membership here next year but I do not think my contract will last all that time. We just wanted to thank the entire staff at Palmetto Falls for being so kind and on top of things. We had an amazing experience there and are very sad yesterday was your last day. Oh….I can’t forget they have “doggie day” next week where you can bring your dogs to swim. I’d be there in a heartbeat but healthcare is 24/7 and I have to work unfortunately. It should be a great time!
It's a cool looking place. We didn't swim though. THIS PLACE DOES NOT HAVE THE MINI GOLF! I saw someone post pictures of mini golf and thought they did. It's behind the Waterpark, different admission, different sales counter, different entrance. Good thing they refunded me.Price for adult entry$11–15
It's a pretty nice water park. Prices are $17 per person, the website makes it seem like it's $65 but that's for season passes. You do not have to be military or military family. Very diverse crowd so everyone should feel welcomed. There is one big slide , a kid slide a splash park, lazy river and a 1ft kiddie pool as well as a 4 larger pool in the middle. I would come back again. Food Food is surprisingly affordable , family of four and we ate for about $20. They have burgers, hot dogs, nachos , fries, chili fries, ice cream , lemonade and other stuff. Park Very clean, alot of life gaurds but be aware there is music playing all around the park but louder in certain areas, bring ear plugs if your easily over stimulated.
Appreciate the lifeguards, they where abundant and atuned to the many swimmers. Concrete walkways are extremely hot so water shoes would alleviate the burn or loosing track of your flip flops.
Cool place. Bring lots of sunscreen. No shade around pool unless you are lucky enough/ or rent the covored areas.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$16–20
My son and I went on a Friday morning and stayed for a few hours. We absolutely love it! It's the perfect size, lots of lifeguards on duty, and no pools were over 4ft! Which is awesome for small kids/ teenagers. We will definitely be back soon!
I would definitely love to give Palmetto Falls 5 stars but the concrete on the bottom of ALL pools even the kiddy sections were chipped , cracked and broken in A lot of areas. This can be dangerous in more ways than one. Other than that the kids had a Great time. I will update my post if I return and these spots are fixed!
It's small but fun for younger kids. $13 for ID holder, $15 for Id holder guest and $17 for civilian is a little high for admission for as small as the place is. The food is not very good at the snack bar and of course, overpriced.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$11–15
It's just ok for the price. The pool is very outdated. It has a lot of poorly patched up areas that are very noticeable. The bathroom has no ventilation and at 96 degrees it was unbearable in there. The food was overpriced for the amount of tenders and fries you get.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
The grandchildren had a ball! My only suggestion is that there should be more shaded areas for people to sit at.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNot sure
