Paragon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in Conejo Valley

In February of 1998, the first Paragon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy was opened in Santa Barbara, California.
The academy was born out of an exchange ideas between two friends, Michael Florimbi and Ricardo ”Franjinha” Miller. The two visioned one academy where It could be a great place, with a very friendly environment with all family members being able to participated together and at the same time keep a safe level of sportsmanship competition between them.
With this in mind the name of this project could not be other than Paragon BJJ Academy.
After a few years of success in the Santa Barbara school. People from surround areas started to commute to Santa Barbara to train with Franjinha. This created the opportunity to Paragon started to spray in the county around Santa Barbara. “Franjinha” opened his second location in Ventura as well as affiliate schools with his Black Belts and students in different cities in California, Texas, Arizona and other countries like Sweden.
In addition, Paragon has become a community force for recreational Jiu-Jitsu, a resource for law enforcement, and a developer of ongoing physical training and self-defense programs for young people, adults, seniors, and women
