I specialize in infidelity and addictions—most notably sex, porn, and love addiction and general couples work.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist - Candidate with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals and Employee Assistance Specialist - Clinical trained to work with adults, couples and families who struggle in a variety of situations. In addition to clinical training, I have advanced training in pastoral counseling, financial education and crisis management. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work. I also am approved to facilitate the Prepare/Enrich assessment to help empower premarital and married couples.
I have experience treating sexual addiction, infidelity, shame, codependency and emotional intimacy disorders and have been directly trained by Patrick Carnes. My other clinical interests include couples, premarital counseling, the treatment of trauma and its aftermath, depression and anxiety, Internet addiction and integrating spirituality into psychotherapy. I also work with clergy, pastors and church leaders.
My style is practical, reality-oriented and collaborative. Pain, stress, and difficult times provide some of the best opportunities to create meaning and hope. My goal as a therapist is to help you get through the lousy times, not by removing the garbage, but by walking with you through it.
