Our first time here over Memorial Day weekend. I called earlier in the day before we arrived and spoke with a very pleasant woman. The office staff was very friendly and organized. The site was fine . Not sure about the people complaining in their reviews- we have a large pickup and trailer and had no issues getting in or out. The waterfront is peaceful and beautiful. My 3 year old grandson had a great time! We plan on coming back as we live fairly close. There is a campground a little bit closer to home that we had tried the last 2 years. Not friendly and very controlling- this was a breath of fresh air!
Patten Pond Campground was great!! Our site #305 was level, nicely treed and just a short walk down to the sandy beach. Loved the loon calls in the morning. Bath house/showers were convenient and clean. I had read some negative reviews and they were completely unfounded. They actually have quite a few returning customers. Very friendly place. we would definitely stay at Patten Pond again!!
We recently stayed at Patten Pond and enjoyed our time there. Sites were good, accessible and overall the park was quiet. Nice amenities, especially the pond. The only real negatives are the long, dry and extremely dusty gravel entry road and multiple speed bumps. By the time we reached registration our rv and toad were absolutely covered in dust. That 1/2 mile entry needs to be paved or at least oiled to minimize the accumulation of dust and dirt.
Deep in the woods Patton Pond campground is a rustic place to try and park a big motorhome! Host had to guide us in around low hanging trees we have 12'10" height, so it was a bit scary. We loved camping there because of rustic feel and a river running close to our site.Location: 5/5
This is a lovely wooded campground that will temp you out of doors! Swim at the sandy beach on Patten Pond or kayak, or fish. There is a large shaded playground for kids as well as a large green for setting up outdoor games. There are more price levels here than I have seen anywhere else - and we’ve been full time RV’ers for 2 years. Friendly, helpful staff. Very close to Acadia National Park and other scenic attractions. Nearby activities: Acadia National Park, Ellsworth , Bangor, and all of Downeast Acadia within easy driving distance. Beyond Gorgeous!! Safety: Quite a ways from any roadway with staff and other campers onsite. Walkability: Flat graveled streets. Sandy beach. Close to Acadia walking trails.
Excellent campground to stay at when visiting the Maine coast in the summer. Convenient to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor without all the crazy crowds. The campground can accommodate just about any size RV. Nice lake swimming area.
Clean sites and great views. Only complaint is that they have boulders all over the place which makes it difficult to navigate backing into sites when you already have trees to worry about. It’s one thing if they are just along the road, but they are in random spots.Rooms: 4/5
This place caters to the RV stayers who are allowed to harass the tent people. My boyfriend was going 6 miles an hour in a 5 mph zone the second we drove into this camp. The Rv people across from us spent the entire week talking to neighbors loud so we could hear, everyday. Several campers and staff took it upon themselves to also harass him. When I took over driving in the park it was difficult to keep it e aptly at 5mph because of the hills no matter how small they were. So there was no reason I could see for the harassment. And there were no other people spoken too when they went fast as far as we could tell. If you are tent campers I would not recommend this place.
We stayed under our Thousand Trails membership and enjoyed the campground. It is about 45 min to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park. Campground was clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay again.Service: 4/5
Nice Thousand Trails Encore park with gravel roads. Sites are pretty unlevel and required several layers of blocks. Many motorhomes have tires off the ground to get level. We were in site 323 and WIFI was never available for more than a few minutes. ATT and Verizon service is good. Good location for Acadia National Park.Location: 4/5
