Omg, this school is the best school ever. The schools teacher are very strict which is a good thing, they made my son very respectful and he loves to do his homework. At elementary his grades we’re falling very bad, but now he’s a A+ student. We live 40 min away from the school, but all the driving is worth it. I wouldn’t you to take your child to Perry Hall Middle. No matter how far you are.
This school is wonderful IF you are white. Like any public school the teachers are overworked and underpaid as well as underfunded. They are not able to tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of every student. If your child is a special education student then they are stereotyped and categorized with no consideration for their strengths
Teachers and staff assume what students intentions are and punish them even though they are proven innocent. They never consider what the student thinks and teachers have punished students for picking up pencils. Plus the school is way too overcrowded. If you want a good education then be my guest, but don't come here if you want to be somewhere where it's crowded and teachers have no age equality.
I’m a former 8th grade student at Perry hall middle! It was a great year, because the teacher are strict and provide homework! I went to a not so great school before and was academically failing but perry hall middle was able to help me get back on track with my grades. The only thing you have to make sure is to get into higher level classes, so you won’t have people affecting your learning! The down side is that this school is over crowded!
ok school, very overcrowded. seems nobody is mature in our school, and the people who are mature get 'made fun of.' alot of people are honestly bimbos, not even kidding. its lovely to see a group of kids not even getting dresscoded for wearing crop topped noodle straps crowding the hallway. the 6th graders get aggrivating, because they are most pampered. im in grade 7th, and once they promised something to us, we didnt get it, instead the lower grade got it. we barely get field trips, if we do, theres only one a year and its not something you end up remembering. school is kind of cheap in my opinion, were supposed to go to another good field trip, but school couldnt afford buses so we went to another place. i feel like kids dont even care about succeeding in this school. staff are nice i guess.
I'm James, and I'm currently in 8th grade at Perry Hall. It's terrible. Some teachers in the school are quite aggressive, and expect us, the students, to be able to learn something when all they're doing is comparing us to their "better classes" and saying how we're so "difficult". How can we learn if nobody's teaching? Also, the grading schedule is pure booty cheeks; Teachers say and sometimes GUARANTEE that all assignments from *insert time frame* will be graded by the weekend. Now, I'm not saying all the teachers in the school do this, but from 3 years of attending this school, and what my friends have been telling me, most do. It's unacceptable Then they have the audacity to notify our parents, or try and sneak diss in class about missing work, but they know that it's not missing - they haven't graded it yet. They wait until the very last few weeks of the quarter, the MOST STRESSFUL times in the school year, because people are turning in work, then decide to grade the work that was done weeks and WEEKS ago, and now our most recent classwork and test and quizzes aren't graded until the next quarter, or don't even affect the current quarter's final grade. It's ridiculous...I DEFINITELY DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, RECOMMEND SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL WHATSOEVER.
This school is mediocre. There have been some threats made here and ther but overall it is not so bad. The teachers here do give you lots of work but it is for a good reason, to get you prepared for the future. I would and wouldn’t recommend this school. It is all based on your personal preference.
My son transitioned from a very small private school to PHMS at the start of his 7th grade year and he did a FANTASTIC job!! I was nervous about the size of the school population size and his fitting in but he adjusted and fell right into place. The school administration and staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our experience at PHMS was a wonderful one.
I hate this school, it makes me depressed, my friend had my phone and I reached to get it back and mr.attkins saw me and said I was attacking my friendMy friend was short so mr.Attkins called my friend hadycapped and special which offended my friend so he suspended me for 2 day and gave me an in school suspension. Mr.atkins is not even my administrator so the suspension should not of been his choice This school punishes students without hearing what they have to say about the situation Mrs.shanks,mrs.duncan and mrs.geinili are good.
school sucks. Fights everyday, most people I know have anxiety and depression and try everything possible to avoid coming to school because of bullies and rumors. when I tried to come out at school and asked the teachers to call me a different name only 2 actually were okay with it. Most kids are racist, homophobic or stuck up.
