Enjoying the beauty of life
My experience stared when I grew up in the flower gardens.
Bulb catalogs served as reminders of the spring ahead and the smell of fresh turned earth fueled raking, weeding and preparing.
She enjoyed every moment of the planning and preparation.
My mother understood a simple truth, that the flowers of the garden were fleeting and every new bloom reminded us that moments of beauty and happiness should be enjoyed.
My mother showed me how to press ferns and pansies, preserving every detail.
She cut bouquets of statuesque irises, wild roses, and humble Queen Anne's lace to share the beauty.
I dried flowers, created beautiful arrangements for shows and worked in design shops.
I fell in love with working in the soil and the flowers and above all the happiness I could help create through my work.
I started work in a different career, married my best friend, moved from the city to the country and started a family.
Here and there I worked with flowers.
Weddings for family and friends, raising my own children in the flower beds and cutting bouquets for neighbors and loved ones.
This passion with flowers and the appreciation with life's simplest blessings has grown over time and is basis of the way we live on our old New Hampshire farm.
Whether I create lush bouquets for a bride at a summer wedding or dress a table in winter greenery and twisted vine before I serve a homemade stew...
Enjoying the beauty of the moment.
