So much to do and see! Log Slide Beach was my favorite spot, but there are falls, many hikes, tons of lake overlooks, etc. Highly recommend a visit, and if you do go, more than one day could easily be filled with sight seeing and hiking. Restrooms: Restrooms at nearly every sight seeing attraction. Dog-friendliness: Many dog friendly areas, which is surprising for a piece of land under the national parks. We were able to bring our dogs to most of the places we visited, on leash of course.
This is a slice of Mother Natures best work! I just finished backpacking 26 of the 42 miles of this magnificent shoreline. It is rugged, rustic, challenging and so absolutely worth every single view. Lake Superior is the Queen, and she is as gorgeous during a storm as she is in the sunshine.
Majestic place and Great Scenic overlooks. It has Beautiful falls and Dunes. Must visit place. The Cruise was also very good. But would recommend trying out Kayaking or taking Pontoon Boats rental instead of Cruise because folks who did that activity got a closer view of Rocks, Falls etc.
One of Michigan's best kept secrets! Everything in this park was awesome, from waterfalls, short and long hikes, camping, kayaking, beaches, and boat tours. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Wagner and musinishing falls were both great waterfalls, even flowing late in the summer, with an easy 1/4 mile walk from the parking area to the falls. Staff was helpful at the Munising visitor center, but there's no visitor center to enter with a shop or maps or anything. It's just a trailer window to pay the fee and ask questions. There are maps that you can take a photo of to take with you. Miner's falls was huge and a must-see. It's a longer 0.6-mile walk, but it's an easy walk the entire way with a bunch of stairs at the end to the viewing platform. Highly recommend pictured rocks cruises for a guided tour of the shoreline that would take days to kayak the whole way. Their insight on how the area was formed and various collapses through the century was informative and enjoyable.
This was one place we were so excited to visit. The boat tour out to the Pictures Rocks was amazing. It was breathtaking. We loved every minute of our time there. There is so much to see, not only on the boat tour, but the various trails throughout the park. I would recommend visiting for anyone, including families.
Beautiful area. Great fauna and easy hikes. Don't go thinking it's going to be the Tetons or a national park. Have to take a boat to see the rocks but worth the trip. As a Buckeye, the UP is as gorgeous as it gets within a 9 hour drive.
Amazing park with picturesque views. Took the whole family for a backpacking trip. Mosquito Ricer was amazing, kids played in the water and climbed on the rocks for hours. The views along the trail were gorgeous. Great place to visit.
Beautiful area by land, even better by water. I left Michigan 15 years ago to amazing Florida but had forgotten how beautiful the upper peninsula was until I returned this year again. So worth the drive. Miners castle and beach specifically by foot. Kayaking is even better.
A must see while visiting the U.P. We enjoyed the views from Miner's Castle and also our time kayaking along the shore. Great hiking, too. The weather was perfect in August, but the waves on the lake were getting higher.
10/10 recommend a day trip to Pictured Rocks! We hiked the ~10 mile trail that went by Chapel Falls/ Mosquito Beach and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! There’s also the perfect little spot to have a picnic at Chapel Beach. One suggestion— the trail isn’t super well labeled, so just make sure you’ve got a map to help direct yourself.
