Functional medicine recognizes the biochemical individuality of each patient and addresses the underlying cause of disease with an integrated, science based and largely non-drug protocol.
This patient-centered form of care includes an extensive health history, a functional medical exam, and standard as well as specialized lab testing. Our holistic approach helps to determine how an individual’s food, stress, environment, hormones and a multitude of other factors are influencing physiology and creating symptoms. This is called “correcting function” and thus the term “Functional Medicine.”
