This place is absolutely spectacular. We had the best experience here. We honestly went to some other campgrounds that were very strict on animals and it didn’t permit our flow so we wound up here. And that was pretty much when the real vacation started. The staff was welcoming and super kind and accommodating since we booked last minute. The location is perfect. Right on the river. The cabins were very clean and comfy plus they have AC, a microwave and fridge! The private bathroom/shower combos were perfectly clean and it’s so nice to not have to share in a communal space. Plus they have volleyball, a huge field for my dog to play and a pool. I can’t wait to be back. I had a great time and their prices are extremely reasonable. You can setup tents too at their campsites. Such a great spot and happy we stumbled on it. Thanks for such wonderful stay!
We stayed at the cabins at Pigeon River Campground on our weekend trip to enjoy the fall colors in the Smokies. We chose the cabins since we lacked the equipment for camping in late October, but didn't want to stay too far from nature in a hotel in town either. We couldn't have been happier we stayed at Pigeon River Campground, since we got a cozy riverside cabin complete with a grill and fire pit which we made good use of, in an easily accessible and well laid out location, all for a great price. The restrooms were clean and easy to walk to, the store convenient, the staff warm and friendly, and the location perfect for drives to the numerous sights in the area. We would have loved to stay longer, and will definitely be back soon!
Good location for exploring. Highway noise not bad, given its closeness to the highway. Newer facilities. From a RV perspective, I would call it more of trailer park then a campground. I am giving 3 stars because of design issues. It seems like it was designed by someone with little to no RV camping experience, they visited a couple of parks and then laid this one out. There is no handicap parking near the restrooms. The seemingly brand new Bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible. The connections for the full RV hook up, are 10 to 20 feet away, centered on your neighbors picnic table area. The staff does not answer the phones most of the time, it goes to a call center, this seems fine, but there are communication issues.
Nice little campground. Cement pad w/full hookup. R.V. area was not busy for last weekend in July only 1 other rv. Nice pool and very clean showers/bathrooms. Will be back in a couple of weeks to kayak the Pigeon gorge again.
Nice campground. Pet fee seemed a little high. Bathroom was clean and roomy. However. If you are handicap not friendly. Our sewer went up hill so couldn't dump our tanks. The campground itself was clean.
Repeat camper here. We love coming here because of April and Rachel. They are so sweet and now my family considers them family. This is a great place to stay. Rules are enforced for the safety and enjoyment of all campers. A hostile camper came to Rachel complaining. We were having conversation with Rachel. I was apprehensive about this camper. The situation was handled prifessionally by both Rachel and April. Looking forward to camping again this spring!
10/10! Stayed in one of their lovely cabins. It was very comfortable and relaxing. The bathrooms were very clean, cleaned daily. Tents and cabins are right on the river. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Camp ground was very quiet even though the highway isn't far away it wasn't really a bother. Because the highway is near it makes it easier to get places like Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Climbworks ziplining is less than half hour away. I will definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful experience here. This place is very family friendly, and the rules are very clear and easy to follow. The scenery is beautiful, and although there may be road noise, it is not disturbing, and is even comforting ambience at times, based on how you look at it. One thing to note: some of th RV hookups for the campers are a little far, but the hosts are working on getting that fixed. A lot of the ones who leave bad reviews are the ones who didn't follow rules and didn't like that they got in trouble for it, or people that have their expectations misaligned with what this place actually is for. Those few that dont fit in the mentioned categories are from years ago, when Rachel and April weren't even there yet. People who enjoy their experience usually dont leave good reviews, they just come back to stay again, which we did. But we decided to leave a review because we were just super pleased. We had an issue with another aggressive guest here who came over to our campsite and started trouble, and Rachel and April handled it wonderfully. The bathrooms are very clean, and the guests know that they are closed for cleaning from 12-1:30. Which may be a problem for some if they failed to actually pay attention and show care for the clearly stated rules and regulations at this place. Also, at this place you dont have to worry about any extra suprise charges. The only extra fees would be from having trash in the fireplace or having cigarette butts laying around. Which the respectful guests would not do in the first place. If Rachel and April weren't here, I wouldn't have enjoyed the experience near as much. They are friendly and hardworking hosts, and aren't afraid to put their foot down to make sure the place is safe for everyone. They also keep the place very clean, even when there are other guests making it a mess. And lastly, they go above and beyond, even doing things they wouldn't necessarily have to, but they do it because they care about everyone here. If there is anything genuinely wrong here and you adress it with Rachel and April, just know that they hear you, and they will work to fix it the best they can, which is evident in the quality of the campground itself. When you're here, don't be afraid to make friends with Rachel and April. You will find that you're missing out if you dont!
Beautiful, clean campground. Will visit again! Wonderful staff! Last night... I'd like to share my gratitude for the wonderful young female staffer. Mentally, physically exhausted. Lugged a trailer 1,000 miles. Out loud I say, "I need divine intervention, please." Not religious. GPS is set for home. GPS says take this exit. Ahhh...ok! Weird. I end up at your campground. She's closing up. Looks at me, says, "We'll take care of you honey." There was nothing better than hearing that!! I will never forget her!! I will never forget the enormity of comfort I felt in her response!! What a beautiful experience! I will aspire to be the beautiful person she was to me the rest of my life. I will revisit your campground bc of that moment which I will never forget. Thank you
The river flooded and the extremely nice campground employee woke us up and helped move all of us away from the waterline to safer ground. Several people I talked to said they never saw the river so flooded, so I don't suspect that this is a super common issue. Otherwise this was a very nice campground and I'm pretty excited to come back. The staff was awesome, the one employee even stayed up most of the night to make sure things did not get even worse with river. I really appreciated that!!!
