All courts in this country are littered with and run by the most corrupt and callous individuals that America has to offer. These people are strictly self serving and have no desire at all to help their communities. The Plano court is a shining example of how truly awful these unfortunate people are. Don't try to plead your case, they will only condescend and laugh at you in a concerted effort to make you feel less than human.
22 years living in Plano and paying ever increasing property taxes. It is sad to see that they are willing to waste tax dollars like this. They would rather go to trial, spend thousands of dollars and waste so much time than to throw out a ridiculous ticket that clearly states that I was doing the speed limit on what a poor driving, unequiped officer considered to be unsafe conditions. No laws broken, just a flawed opinion and no consideration for the fact that i an a trained drive, driving a 4X4 pickup and i grew up driving in the snow. Just know that they are not using our tax dollars in a fair & responsible manure at all. I can only imagine the other forms of waste they are doing on a daily base.
Had to pay a speeding ticket on Wednesday 2022-10-12. Obviously I wasn't looking forward to it. The building was really nice, the security staff was in a good mood and I got to talk to them about football because of my Cowboys shirt, desk staff was really helpful and directed me where to go without being asked. Overall a great experience out of a bleh situation. I wish I had specific names, but everyone working around 10:30 to 11 did a great job.
They do not care what you have to say or your situation with money even if u need to make payments they will denied it without a care why u need it and will make sure they get the money no matter what
Justice isn't always easy in this court. The system has been set up for efficiency in favor of the court and not in favor of the defendant. Getting copies of complaints and tickets on the first pre-trial date is fairly difficult to do. Setting a case for trial requires defendants to appear with their lawyer as well. In order to navigate this Court without getting harmed, it is best if you consult a lawyer. If you need assistance for a ticket in Plano Municipal Court, feel free to call The Beltz Law firm.
The judges are mostly always angry and mean, you won't get a reduction in the fine. There will always be one bottle neck policy even if you appeal with the best of law firms. The court is always looking to convict and fine you heavy. The court may even go ahead to convict even without the judge as they did with me. That court is short of words a money trap, I never felt like I got a fair hearing, all pleas for a deferment fell on deaf ears, my lawyers didn't do a good job either. It's a mess. When you see friendly traffic judges on TV, that's not what you will see with this court, I was always told by my lawyer, I doubt if we will get a fair hearing, this court has a reputation
If I could get this place zero stars I would. They wouldn’t let me into the building unless I had a mascon even though the mandate has been lifted for the state of Texas. They also had none available to hand out. I’m pretty sure that that right there is not legal. When I had politely told the attendant when I first came in that I did not have a mask and asked if he had one to give me he got very aggressive. I was polite and had a smile so I don’t know what his problem was. I didn’t say anything such as back talking him or anything and so I don’t understand why he would be so aggressive towards a pedestrian.
Five stars for the municipal court front staff. One star for the traffic officer whose seat belt ticket sent me there. Three stars overall. Until now, I hadn't been to pay a traffic fine for many years, but I have to admit it was a better than expected experience. The staff was friendly and courteous. The building was clean and uncrowded. I parked close and didn't have to wait in line. Certainly it can't be any easy job facing frustrated citizens all day in that kind of setting, but this staff did their job well. Now if only I could say the same about the traffic officer...
I think all the negative reviews are because of the many tickets people get. Yeah, people get pulled over a lot in Plano, because there are a million terrible drivers in Plano. I came here to turn in my driving safety course certificate for my ticket. Front desk officer was helpful, security guard was friendly, and the clerks were all friendly. Process took no more than 15 minutes.
Reviews of the Municipal Court shouldn't be influenced by a good or bad experience with a police officer. The clerks at the Plano court were courteous and professional, telling me exactly what was needed, and working through the paperwork so my visit was quick and painless. If you arrive early in the morning, you won't have a wait, either. They helped make the best of what could have been a stressful situation.
