Pompano Beach Flying Club
It’s a great way to have access to good, well-maintained airplanes at a reasonable rate. Available to pilots with at least a private certificate and 300 hours total time, or an instrument rating, or a private pilot seeking an instrument rating.
1. Our fleet consists of two Piper Archers and a Cherokee 6, providing the right airplane for your trip. Both Archers have Garmin GNS430’s. One of the Archers has an Aspen EFD1000 Pro with Garmin GNS430 WAAS, plus an air conditioner, and an S-Tec System 30 two-axis autopilot. The Cherokee Six has a Garmin GNS530 WAAS. All aircraft have fuel flow managers and autopilots.
2. We’re located at KPMP, with three runways, 4 different RNAV approaches, low traffic density, and a friendly atmosphere
3. Scheduling is available for trips of up to two weeks with no daily minimums. Certain restrictions apply.
4. Okay to fly to the Bahamas!
5. Club-owned survival gear is available at no charge.
6. We offer easy scheduling online utilizing www.ScheduleMaster.com
7. Each member holds his/her own keys to each aircraft plus our hangar and pilot lounge
8. There is an entry fee of $1,700 which is refundable if you decide to leave the club
9. Monthly dues are $140 to pay for fixed expenses and insurance.
10. Bills are sent out by email monthly for flying time and dues.
11. Club approved instructors are available for flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks and instrument rating training.
12. We hold monthly meetings, often with educational programs and occasional social outings.
13. Your colleagues include current and former airline pilots, general aviation enthusiasts, and many other different types of individuals.
14. A very nice pilot lounge is available with internet access, large screen TV for review of flight & debrief. Pompano Beach Flying Club currently has their own dedicated hangar next door with an in-house A&P for any repairs or service.

Any fuel purchased directly by the pilot is reimbursed at the current Sheltair FBO price of $6.05/gallon, regardless of the price actually paid. Those who elect to buy more affordable fuel elsewhere, including the self-service pumps on the field at PMP (currently $4.49/gallon) save about $15/hour on the Archers and $22/hour on the Cherokee Six.

Great club. Several well maintained Piper aircraft and a great group of members, with a culture of safety. Perfect alternative to aircraft ownership, you have almost all the benefits while sharing maintenance and other costs at a reasonable price.
The Pompano Beach Flying Club is under new leadership as of 2020. The Club now has six planes flying and maintained professionally by an independent/licensed A&P shop. Experience the joy of flying at a fraction of the cost of ownership. Club certified CFIs are available to train new pilots or help established pilots work toward additional ratings. My wife and I earned our PPL through the club and are currently working on our instrument rating...We are excited about all the recent changes and current direction of the Club!
Stay away for your safety! I was a member of this club for a year. This club has a lot of monetary issues and is probably months away from bankruptcy. They do preventive maintenance on their aircrafts by a non pilot and non a&p person which is the treasurer's son. The board is oblivious to the how the money comes in or goes out and the didn't even run a background check on the treasurer who has a criminal record for embezzlement and cocaine trafficking. The maintenance is done on the cheap and the interiors of the planes are not maintained at all. Out of 5 planes 2 are down and no money in the club to fix them. Members who leave can wait 6 months or more to see their $1700 buy in back if ever because again the club is broke. By the way they are also doing flight training so the likelihood of you getting a plane between that and the treasurer's buddies taking them for 15 days a month is very unlikely. If you still decide to join don't say you were not warned.
The club has officially been declared insolvent and stolen money from at least 10 of its members. We all paid $1700 to "buy-in" and was told the money was refundable, and now we are being offered $1.00. STAY AWAY!
Great Flying Club! Nice variety of Piper planes!
