Great campground with lovely lake views and very friendly staff working there, they have a decent pool to use as well, not heated but not that cold, nice and deep too with a shallower end for kids. Incredible location right near Hopewell Rocks with a walking trail taking you through the forest directly to the entrance of the Hopewell Rocks centre, this was a fantastic surprise as it meant we didn’t have to unhook our RV and drive there. Lots of mosquitos by the lake front due to the wet conditions we had but that’s not their fault, just a heads up to people. The electric outlet on our site didn’t have any covers and were so close together one above the other that you can easily disconnect your neighbour, the water is directly above this too, again just a heads up. Fire pit and bench provided for when the weather is on your side. LOTS of supplies in the shop from food and drinks, washing, camping equipment and all sorts in between, all reasonably priced, lots of laundry machines to use, clean toilets and showers take your own toiletries as there is no shower gel or shampoo to use. Despite the couple of niggles Ponderosa Pines is still deserving of 5*s due to location and facilities.
Extremely friendly staff, clean bathrooms, clean outhouses, clean showers, laundry room etc. Beautiful walking trails and view of the water. I will say, the bugs were really intense while staying there, it was hard to enjoy sitting by the fire even with tons of bug spray.. but that's my only complaint. The campground itself was great!Rooms: 5/5
Very handy if you’re planning to visit Hopewell Rocks. There is a trail from the campground directly to the park 1.7kms. The campground is clean, quiet, respectful. Bathrooms and laundry very clean. Most of the serviced sites offer little privacy, but there are some sites that are more private. The campground is surrounded by beautiful marshland, so quite buggy. We were grateful for our bug tent. The campground store is well-stocked.
2nd time we've stayed here. 1st was in a camper when the kids were young. This time we booked the cottage. Very private. Had to air it out when we arrived. Queen bed was comfy. Double was noisy may have had plastic on it. Sheets were clean. Blanket could have used an airing. Had to wash what we used in the kitchen. Perhaps short on help for necessary cleaning. Nearby activities: Hopewell Rocks. Alma. Train museum. Cape Enrage. Antiques.
This is a great campground with fantastic owners. It's located super conveniently close to the Hopewell Rocks which is totally worth visiting. The sites are spacious and the bathrooms are very clean and the showers have great hot water. The Wi-Fi is great. The only negative might be that the mosquitoes are big and vicious.Rooms: 5/5
The campground is stellar. A plethora of sites many of them quite secluded if one does not require hook-ups. Beautiful views of the Bay of Fundy and camping right next to lakes. The showers stayed hot and the host was patient with me as I bounced around sites deciding which one I liked best. Large sites to accommodate any size RV. And tons of tent sites. Just a five minute drive to Hopewell Rocks. Sweet! #louielandadventures Walkability: There are hiking trails that you can take that will get one to Hopewell Rocks.
Avoid this camground when camping in a tent with no service! Site 300 m away from the washrooms, mosquitoes are super bad. No wifi in the evening, poor wifi in the morning, even at the laundry which was told us to be a good place to get connection. Expensive campground where you have to pay an extra 10$ per night for a second tent which means two two person tents are more expensive than one 4 person tent because, according to the lady at the reception "the size does not change anything, it is our rules". Wood sold was wet. Only positive point: super clean washrooms.
No Beach , Pool is free which is why they get 4 stars or else it would have been 3 or below . We personally got the worst camp site Which are any numbers from 1 to 8 but there are good rv camping spots on this small property. You are 5 minute drive from howel rocks and no you can’t walk on the beach to howel rocks. Service is good. Washrooms are fine. Fire pits on the campsites from 1 to 8 are pretty dangerous because of how close they are to your neighbour Watch YouTube review
Perfect location. Sites are small though, kind of crowded as other reviews said. But we only stayed one night, so we did not really care. Firewoods were more expensive than I expected got much bigger pack with similar price elsewhere. the owners are nice and very helpful.
If you have more than 2 kids you pay extra!!!! pros: -beautiful and very convenient location 5min to Hopewell Rocks, 30min to Fundy Park - nice views of river and bay - young lady at the counter was nice - free showers cons: -although ladies bathrooms were clean, mens was constantly clogged, during all our two days stay, in our opinion not enough washrooms - the quantity of mosquito I have not seen in my life we went to Fundy park for hike, no mosqitoes at all - our spot was the size of single car garage- if we made campfire it would have been under the awning of our popup burning our canvas - the most expensive campground we have ever been we got charged $180 for two nights 15Amp service -now the funniest part- we have been camping on big part of Ontario and Quebec for few good years but never seen that before: WE GOT CHARGED FOR HAVING TOO MANY KIDS We got informed that the site is 4 people only so for our two „extra” kids we got charged $10 a day per person $40 in total.
