Poppa's Fish House

I came in on a weekday lunch about an hour before close. Seated immediately. Because it was so close to closing time, several items were out and the staff said they wouldn’t be preparing any more. But what they did have, was delicious! Sweet tea was very good. This is a down home, country buffet. Nothing fancy just basic good food at a decent price point.

Attentive staff; clean & spacious dining room; food was always fresh. I’ll be driving the 30 miles to go back again soon! Kid-friendliness: The staff remained aware of my 4yo when we were in transit between bar and table making sure we weren’t stumbled into.

The food is ready good. We went on a Friday night. It was not to busy. The buffet was well stocked. Frog legs were cooked to perfection. Like $25 per person but didn’t mind due to the sugar buzz from the pecan pie.Recommended dishesFried Catfish and Other, Pecan Pie & Custard Pie

My sisters and I stopped by on our way home to Louisiana-was the perfect ending to our vacation! Food was delicious, fresh, with a great variety….and the pies!!!! Outstanding! Super friendly staff, immaculately clean setting, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon!

Crab legs were seasoned real good!! Just how I like them!! I really enjoyed them!! Buffet was ok!! The waitress Portia was real nice & friendly!! And made sure she checked on us!! Update: I ordered take-out & the food was delicious!! Some of my items were whole catfishmy fav.. boiled shrimps!! The hushpuppies was fabulous.. seafood pasta was great and the grape salad was very tasty!!

Boil shrimp is so spicy you cant eat it. The fish is hard. Only thing is good is the salad bar and the dessert bar. The waitresses let you run out of tea. I was literally sitting right beside the table where they keep the tea pitchers and my tea was watered down before she finally asked if i was ok didnt ask if i needed more tea. She finally filled it up with tea no ice. I have a picture of my glass with no ice Then they expect you to pay 28 dollars. This happened on June 23rd.
