If I could give zero star, I definitely would. I don’t know what was my agent name but it was a lady with hijab. She was super rude to me. She needs to be train about customer service. My package wasn’t something typical, It was some legal document and very important, I need it ASAP. I told her what is that but she didn’t put time to find my package during I was tracking that and I could see it’s there. They are irresponsible and don’t care about you, your time and your issue. Please don’t waste your time.
Gwyneth has been absolutely amazing. She goes above and beyond every time I came in. Normally in a post office you expect attitude and unhappy employees. Not here. Gwyneth goes above and beyond every single time!! So grateful for her and her patience. Couldn’t be more grateful.
Had a fine experience here on a Friday afternoon. Parking along the side and a larger lot in the back, also some street parking in front. A mailbox on the street in front and slots for mail inside too. A counter inside with 3 agents when I was there.
If I could give zero stars, you know I would. This is the rudest post office I’ve ever been to. Quite literally these women have not one F to give, and are treating customers like they hate them. Manuela helps us. She asked us to prounce out last name. My husband does. She laughs , and says, “That’s too long.” This is not a comment that is acceptable in any setting, but abhorrent when it’s said in front of a child who has the same last name. It represents our family, our culture, our heritage. If you are trying to provide culturally competent care, which any agency that represents the government should be trying to provide, this is not the comment you make. My husband simply responds, “It’s not too long.” She looks visibly upset, and proceeds to be rude and abrasive in her tone and dismissive hand-waving for the duration of the appointment. All of this with our child present who is confused as to why this lady is “being mean.” Read their reviews. This is not an isolated incident. It’s what they’re known for. Disgraceful experience. Never going back.
Staff incredibly rude. Other post offices would give you tape for a label, they made me remove the tape from the roll set out on the main counter after watching me use it saying it was federal property and I would have to pay to mail it with that tape on the label. Destroyed the label.
Nice staff, seldom a line, best USPS office in metro DC suburbs. The counter service folks are personable, established clientele, know the regulars, look after the elderly neighbors by encouraging words, and helpfully serve many immigrants seeking passports.
$40 to ship a 3lb box to California. Feels like I got scammed
I just left this Post Office and there was some type of issue with me getting a receipt. I don't understand why if I am shipping with a prepaid label, I can't get a scan with a receipt that would provide me with proof of mailing Like they do at EVERY other Post Office and EVERY other contract postal unit I've EVER been to. The gentleman at the desk, SCOTT, and a woman whose name I did not get as her name tag was concealed/not visible/absent, insisted that this is the way it is and I cannot get a receipt but I'll get an email. An email from who????????? Scott said I will get an email from whoever I have my shipping set up through. I have an e-commerce business and I've NEVER gotten such an email from ANY company from whom I buy postage. He advised me to take a photo of the shipping label. This was a ridiculous suggestion as this still does not provide PROOF of MAILING. I said that I preferred instead to take a photo of him scanning the package but he refused. Fine. I ended up leaving the Post Office without shipping my package and without a receipt. It makes NO SENSE that they cannot provide a receipt for PROOF of SHIPMENT on a PREPAID LABEL. I would NOT recommend this Post Office location; 2 thumbs down, 0 stars if possible.
Update for 2021 Unfortunately, I'm going to have to update my original review and recommend that folks mail their USPS packages elsewhere. I waited in line for around 10-15 minutes to mail a pre-paid, pre-boxed package, and was met with exasperation from the clerk when asking for a simple pickup scan—not even a receipt, which they've stopped doing—just a scan, which takes all of 10 seconds to do. It was quite crowded when I was there, so perhaps having folks go elsewhere might be a good thing for everyone involved. I think there's an unfortunate mix between the influx of holiday packages, new hires, and short-staffing that have led to it being a frustrating experience to mail packages here. Let me be clear, however: the solution to this is likely to come from investing in the proper training, compensation, and well-being of USPS staff, not from punishment, reprimand, or overwork. I don't know if anyone at USPS ever reads these or if they have any say in these sorts of matters, but take that for what it's worth. Original Review This post office is just a stone’s throw away from where I live, and I’ve relied on it to deliver a fair number of packages, both to friends and family as well as for selling items online. All have been processed promptly and delivered without issue. There are often customers filling out forms or boxing up items, but if your item is packed and prepaid, they’ll often just call you over to drop it off at the counter. I can understand why some people are put off by the customer service they’ve received. There are times where employees have been curt to me; however, there are also times where I’ve had lovely conversations with the very same people, so I try not to take it personally. Working in a public-facing service job like this—especially in a Post Office—is really rather thankless. Yes, they are employees offering a service and there are expectations that come with that, but they are also people, and deserve to be treated with common decency just like everyone else. Especially during times like these, I’m really grateful for their help, and for the fact that the USPS has operated largely as normal well, as normal as things can be over the past few months.
I have truly never seen such poor customer service if you even want to call it that. The woman working was absolutely horrible to everyone in the room. They opened after 9AM and she immediately started yelling at everyone. She also spent 5 minutes cleaning her desk area very slowly. Do you guys open at 9, or open after 9 and spend extra time preparing while you have customers waiting in front of you? I watched her repeatedly yell at a poor man just trying to mail an envelope. She was interrogating him and would raise her voice when he didn’t answer her questions right away. I am honestly not surprised as to why USPS is struggling so much, and why there are so many delays in mail.
