I was at the family birth center for a scheduled C-Section. We were rescheduled twice because of other moms coming in. When it was finally time, our hospital staff was amazing! Thanks to Dr. Scalici our son was born healthy and quickly. The care afterwards was so good that I was able to leave the next day. Thank you to the amazing nurses that took care of us. You guys made this such an easy stay.
ER Absolutely awful experience. Sat in a chair in a hallway for over five hours, threw up three times from pain. Talked to the doctor twice for a combined total of less than two minutes. She ordered a test that even a tech said was irrelevant and wasn’t going to show anything. Oh, but originally she forgot to even order the test. I sat there for an hour and a half waiting after she said she was ordering it, finally went to the nurses station to check only to find out the doctor forgot to order it. They did absolutely nothing for me except make the pain even worse and tell me oh, maybe it’s because your cancer is back, but we don’t know anything, so just worry about that too now. I asked her for something for the pain since I’m allergic to NSAIDs, she said Tylenol, I told her that hadn’t helped, she turned around, shrugged her shoulders and stuck her hands in her pants while she walked off. I threw up in the parking lot on my out, from pain, pulled over on the freeway to throw up from pain, have thrown up twice since I’ve been home from pain. So now I’m just laying here in a fetal position crying, typing this hoping it will stop someone from making the same mistake as me, DONT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!! If you have to, and get MEGAN GUFFEY beg for a new doctor or just leave. It took everything I had in me to drag myself into the ER, she treated me like trash. So did the nurses. The only nice person was the ultra sound lady and one other tech. I hate this hospital.
I had a great experience during some testing. It was a short period from my arrival time until I was taken for my test. I was treated professionaly & every step was explained thoroughly Justin & Dee did an excellent job. They're a perfect example of quality professional care
Had a seizure at work a little over a year ago. Last night as I was closing, I started having the exact same symptoms that I did before I seized dizziness, involuntary twitching and feeling disoriented. Called the hospital and was told I could either drive there or have an ambulance come get me. I drove, because it wasn't getting any worse or better for a solid 20 minutes. It was a little after 1 a.m. when I got there and I waited in the ER lobby for an hour and a half for triage to take my BP, BOL and blood sugar levels. Waited another 3 hours in a doctor's office just for a nurse to tell me "Yeah no one is coming to help you".
Zero stars. On 8/17 was visiting from out of town and was having chest pain and shortness of breath. Within the first hour i got an EKG, X-RAY and blood work. In the main waiting area i saw someone rip their IV out and leave, i saw one other walk out of the hospital with an iv in their arm. As far as i saw, not one person that was there had been seen. At first i thought this was nothing too out of the ordinary as far as the ER goes but i was wrong. I waited 5 more hours and was called back and put into another waiting room, people were piled up in the triage. No one was helped in the back either, everyone was screaming for a doctor that no one had seen. There was one nurse working. I waited in the back waiting room for 5 more hours and im not exaggerating not one person spoke to me or even looked in my direction for 5hours, making my stay at 10 hours. I actually wandered the ER floor looking for someone to take my IV out and there wasn't even a person at any desk anywhere. I started to wander back to the main waiting area where i finally found the one nurse and he was being yelled at by a sobbing woman that was in the same position everyone else was, there for 10 or more hours and no help at all. He finally took my IV out and i had to leave without seeing a doctor. When i left i immediately got into my chart where all my test results were, waiting. They were there for who knows how long and no one had the time to just read them over with me and help me or send me on my way. This was the worst most helpless feeling hospital experience i've ever had. I feel sorry for everyone that was there to be seen and for the people that work there, they are clearly severely understaffed, so much so i can't believe this hospital is allowed to be open at all. If you have a life or death emergency, this is the last place you'd want to go. Its ridiculous for people to pay such a large amount to never see a doctor. It has to feel terrible to be so short staffed that people are screaming and upset with you because you can't provide care basically at all. Don't recommend anyone go here.
My sister had severe vomiting and had to wait in the waiting room for over 8 hours while she proceeded to vomit every 2-3 min the entire time. They said they couldn’t get her in because they didn’t have any rooms. They even had her give a urine sample but never came to get it…it just sat next to her for hours. Honestly, if they’re truly this short staffed they should just close the hospital and do everyone a favor. How can they call it an Emergency Room? The only way you’ll be seen is if you don’t have a pulse. This is inhumane.
If I could give no stars I would. Brought my dad in, having stroke symptoms. Waited 14 hours in waiting room. They said they wanted to admit but didn't know when a bed would be available. Then the doc told me I should've brought him in within the first couple hours of symptoms because now there's nothing she could do. That was after we were there 9 hours. But she wanted to admit so he could get an MRI. Waited another 5 hours and still no bed. We left drove to another hospital an hour away and got the answers we needed in less than 2 hours....... acute stroke and brain aneurysm. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone!!!! Especially if your life depends on it.
I only give one star because I can’t give zero and I feel bad for the one doctor and PA whom are forced to diagnose 120 patients, all by themselves in one shift. Honestly, I don’t understand an all the years that I’ve lived in this town, why this hospital has not expanded yet. Every time I or my mother has gone into this ER four times over the last 25+ years it takes hours to be seen. Yesterday my brother took our mother in because I was not available. They went to the Valley View walk-in clinic first recommended by me, because I knew they would be waiting forever at the ER. But the walk-in clinic suspected a blood clot and sent them to the ER. I thought they would get service quicker, being sent from the walk-in clinic with suspected blood clot, but they were still there for over 14 hours! They didn’t get home until 2 AM in the morning. My brother was impressed how well the staff handled the stress, being so severely understaffed, but this has been the situation for years now. and nothing is changing. The last time I went in there with my mom about 7 years ago, her blood pressure was 264/92 according to her blood pressure machine at home. We sat in the waiting room for 8 hours, and they never even came to take her blood pressure themselves!! On top of it, they didn’t even act worried. It was like they thought we were just faking it. It’s not that hard to come and take somebody’s blood pressure. It takes two minutes to walk over, wrap a device around my mothers arm, pump it up and take her blood pressure. But they couldn’t even manage that because they were too busy. There are plenty of people in the surrounding towns this hospital services to justify the investment of expanding this hospital by adding more equipment, better equipment, more employees, and a larger ER with more beds. It’s ridiculous to go into a small town ER that services multiple towns that aren’t so little anymore and have to wait in a waiting room not even a room for over 14 hours because there’s 120 patients in one little tiny ER waiting for One of the few rooms and the ONE doctor or PA they have on staff. Elderly and sick people do not have the endurance to sit in an ER waiting room for hours upon hours, waiting to be seen when they are having heart attack, stroke, and blood clot symptoms. Now my mom refuses to ever go back to this hospital. So now what am I gonna do? She’s out in the middle of nowhere and it’s hard enough to get her to call my brother to get her to go to the doctor. She won’t even call an ambulance because she can’t afford it. If I call an ambulance for her, she will refuse service because she knows the ambulance will just take her to the ER and she’ll have to sit there for hours upon hours. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! And the staff? What about them? How are patient’s health not being compromised when you only have one Doctor and one PA on staff servicing all 120 patients??? These physicians and nurses have to be dealing with extreme burn out!! There’s no way they’re not. I’m sorry, but whoever funds this Providence needs a wake-up call. It’s not fair to the staff or the patients!! What are all your taxes paying for in this little tiny town if not for decent healthcare? When is this long standing problem going to be addressed??? Ultimately it comes down to the “higher uppers” of this hospital neglecting the community it serves.
Every time I've been there, I've had to wait 5 or 6 hours before getting a room. They've made my mom lay on an uncomfortable chair and ended up getting kicked out by the security because they were upset about it. Incredibly unreasonable and the care they give is undeniably awful
So let's go a call to prayer regarding this please! Instead of me just complaining. I was just informed that this hospital IS short staffed. There is a doctor there clear from Arizona. He has been at Providence Centralia a month now. The hospitals from Longview to Tacoma and Morton have been slammed. Lord, forgive me and Holy Spirit thank You for a call to prayer! Lord, I pray for ALL, the patients and the staff. I pray for Waring and Ministering Angel's. Praying for miracles and healing. Praying for Your presence and touch. You healing and love. Praying for Wisdom and Discernment, again for miracles, mercy, love and grace... As my sister has brought to my attention... Yes call to prayer!!! The evil one is around us all and doesn't want us calling out to Jesus. Lord, be glorified and praise for all You do, I pray Forgiveness and Mercy... praying a move of God like no other! IN JESUS NAME! AMEN! A MOVE OF GOD THAT CAN NOT BE DEFEATED! lord, forgive me... I repent. Please turn all these words around for good and for blessing, all for Your glory, drawing us in to call out for You, to be closer to You and Your heart and to be covered under Your wings and healed, protected from the evil one, in Jesus Yeshua's name Amen... bring us to our 1st love, that is always going to be You. Thank You Lord. Thank You that You take what is meant for evil and turn it around for good. For all of us who know and love You I pray for Your protection but that we also use this for a time of prayer to You and thanks giving. Have Your way in us Lord always and bless all in Hospital at this time in Jesus Yeshua's name Amen Providence hospital in Centralia, .Wa Looks like my review was erased. I took a copy of it! Just in case. If I could give it a minus I would. I've had good and bad service this was the worst. Tamara in triage was unbelievably horrible. She told me my blood sugar was 117. I just checked my chart its 177. People passing out at the front desk. Worst yet was a elderly patient who had been waiting for 12 hrs and the one that had a gash from his knee to his ankle, through all the muscle to the bone. They were all there when I left. Copy of it...Dissapointing, sad place! Disgusted at treatment of myself and other patients. This place is horrible! Anyone that gives positive stars must have insurance that pays well, which doesn't mean it is a good hospital. It just means they give you priority. The worst last night. Especially Tamara she wrote her name down for me so I could make a complaint in triageWhat a piece of work and disappointment. She was the worst, so unprofessional. She banged me. My bandages where hanging off & coming unwrapped because she didnt know or care to properly wrap a bandage. I had open lesions that were bleeding and the soles of my feet were hot & red, on fire. With her mouth full she can barely talk and she tells me I need a pedicure. There is lesions and dark Mark's from wounds and healingI am dark skinned anyways. I left early without service after 5hrs. There was a sweet elderly man in a blue shirt, he been the waiting 12 hrs. One guy with a laceration from knee to ankle. At least 6 inches wide, cut through the muscles & to the bone. The intake at the desk had put gauze over it and Tamara from triage didnt even look at it and wrapped over it and made him take his tourniquet off. He said they took him in to xray his ankles and brought him back out to waiting room to bleed for several more hours. He was still waiting when I left. With a little girl playing in the waiting room bumping into patience who had been brought in by ambulance and that guy. It was a joke. Digusting. Such a disappointment. They dont deserve any pay for my visit that is for sure. Some paperwork, a blood pressure check and a diabetes check. That's it. Dont count the bandages. Oh, I forgot to mention the lady that passed out on admitting and hit her head. I have had good treatment in facilities and bad, this topped worse experience. Patients and staff need of prayer and God for sure!
