Purple Carrot is the plant-based meal kit company. We deliver fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and simple step-by-step guidance for people to cook distinctive, healthy, plant-based meals at home. Eating plant-based meals — even if only a few times a week — has a positive impact on people’s health, the environment and animal welfare. Purple Carrot empowers people who want to consciously and easily integrate plant-based eating into their life — while not completely giving up meat, fish and dairy — and become a balanceatarian. Food is great! Recipes are spot on! Super fresh and easy to make meals that can always be modified to your liking. We have never have missed a delivery....everything has been amazing here so far in Kansas! People complaining may need to look at the delivery groups instead of PC. Seems that a lot of troubles mentioned in other reviews are coastal locations....just an idea.
I’ve really been enjoying Purple Carrot. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and it’s a game changer to not have to worry about coming up with meal ideas and finding time to grocery shop. As a vegetarian, it’s awesome to have a service that caters only to a plant-based diet. With meal kits like Hello Fresh and Green Chef, plant-based recipe options are limited and uninspired. The meals offered by Purple Carrot are full of flavor and relatively easy to make. However, there have been a few flaws. Sometimes the lids of containers containing liquid ingredients come unscrewed and leak. I’ve also had the rare instance of a missing ingredient or produce that’s turning bad. But overall, I highly recommend this service to vegans and vegetarians looking for the convenience of a meal delivery service. I’ve included pictures of some of my favorite dishes including the Potato Malai Kofta, Spicy Peanut Noodles, Falafel Bowl, Kimchi Tofu Stew, Mango Curry with Chickpea Dumplings and Tamarind Cauliflower with Ginger Fried Rice.
Amazing food! Always delivered on time as expected. So many options. I can’t believe this is not a 5 star review from everyone. I tried several food delivery companies prior to this and it was a nightmare. Late deliveries, missing food, no options for people who don’t eat meat! The list goes on. I am a huge fan of the cook it yourself PC meals they are delicious and so convenient! Purple Carrot gets an A+ from me.
I love the idea of accessible vegan food for myself and family, that being said, we’ve given them SO many chances and each week there’s always SOMETHING that never fails to disappoint. Delivery; while not entirely the companies fault when it arrives, it’s never consistent and that sucks. What also sucks is that the items are so carelessly packaged such that when they arrive the products are damaged or no good. Which brings me to my second point; we’ve finally decided to stop our subscription after almost a year due mostly to the fact that the beautifully idealized meals are totally ruined when I get a package of rotten butternut squash, the centerpiece of the meal. Every order brings at least one meal like this, something was cut open, the vegetables are rotten the placement of ice on some veggies is sometimes the cause of damaged products but not completely unusable products like I’m speaking of We’ve decided, there’s better out there and they’re simply not worth the trouble anymore. A 20 percent off your next order can only go so far, when quality is what’s compromised. Honestly the photo of the pepper I posted here… Laying in a pile of sand in the bag and so rotten it’s split open…
Incredible. We've been a Purple Carrot customer for over 3 years now. Truly everyone would eat vegan if they had access to food this tasty. I love that the recipes are not overly complex, but the combinations of flavors are incredible. There are a few recipes here and there that we don't love. However, for the most part the meals are amazing. Whenever we have cooked the meals for our friends and families they've been super impressed as well. We recently started getting the prepared meals delivered in addition to the meal kits. These are perfect for lunch on busy work days. We recommend Purple Carrot to everyone who will listen!
Food is very tasty, but product delivery and freshness are not. One recipe called for a 5.3 oz cup of yogurt which was missing even though listed in the INCLUDED ingredients. Another recipe included a mango which was soft and leaking through the skin. Cut open, it was severely overripe, soft, brown, and unusable
Do not order from purple carrots. They manipulate customers with unclear subscription policies and unjust cancelation. I received a free box from a friend and called to cancel a week before the next delivery and was unable to cancel because they are "already buying the groceries" And most importantly- for $75! you receive basic products 1potato one carrot, and some greens which don't even look good that the total cost of the entire box does not pass 15 dollars very disappointing!
Purple Carrot is a meal delivery system specifically for plant based eaters. My husband & I decided to try it to reduce our food waste. We have loved it! You get to choose your recipes. Each meal about $11 to $13 per person. Beautiful recipe books with detailed instructions & photos. The freshest ingredients. If you are looking for new vegan food ideas & fun activity putting together your meal, this is delivery system to try! We have made gorgeous and delicious meals that we would not have otherwise imagined ourselves. & no more throwing away supermarket produce that spoiled.
Our first set of meals arrived completely warm and had to be thrown out. The packaging was nice and had plenty of insulation and icepacks, but I don't see how this will work with the frozen meals being on a delivery truck all day. When I contacted Purple Carrot they did refund the order, but would not allow me to use my first order coupon discount on the next order and told me it could only be used on the first order. They have horrible customer service when trying to resolve the issue, it's completely like talking to a wall and they just follow the script and you can't talk to them in common sense terms. Stay away and just go to the grocery store and get Amy's microwave meals instead.
I've been subscribing to Purple carrot since April. I enjoy the recipes and the convenience. When there is an issue with the food quality usually a credit is promptly issued. I really appreciate The recipe book for the week, it allows me to try the other meals i didn't order if I have the items. Over all I would definitely recommend.
