Amazing bigger-than-Imax screen experience. Really feels like you're in the middle of the show, especially with the films especially made for it. Tickets can be bought online ahead of time, and it's recommended you arrive at least ten minutes before the listed showtime. Most films are 40-50 minutes.
Large IMAX cinema inside the Carnegie Science Center. Recently watched Train Time and Volcanoes during a visit to the Carnegie Science Center. There is a concession stand with quick and friendly service. Seating is first-come, first-serve.
Fun experience for the entire family. Not many people in the theater, makes it nice if you are still social distancing. We went on a Sunday. My 5 children from 4 to 14 and senior parents all loved it. Only con, I thought the omnimax theater would surround the entire front of the room like some others I've been to, this one was a large screen, it didn't go up to the ceiling. it was still fun through.
I have seen multiple shows at this theater since they reopened, and they have all been amazing. Start was in 3D was the best 3D movie I had ever seen, with a bright screen, vibrant colors, and amazing sounds. A university level lecture on salamanders taught me so much about these nearly invisible animals. Previously, I went to a midnight showing off Rocky Horror Picture Show, that was fun, exciting, and strange. Last night was a free to members showing of a 3D Arctic documentary with free ice cream and popcorn.
Loved the 3d experience!! So much fun!
Great theater but the seats are very steep with very little space to get by if you have to go to the bathroom. If your watching in 3D sit at least 6 rows up and higher. Anything under 6 rows makes everything look too close.
I love this theater! I also love that they are playing more regular and throwback movies rather than just educational films. As a member of the Carnegie museum's, this is now my main movie theater! The shining in 4k remastered was absolutely remarkable, HERE'S JOHNNY!!! P.s. Put a vending machine in the movie theater lobby so pople will still be able to buy snacks for the late shows after the staff leaves and concessions close down. This way the museum will still be making money and won't have to worry about anyone being there. Win win
This is a wonderful place to watch fabulously educational movies! Also, the snack bar is very affordable!! The last time we checked the popcorn was kosher/parve...which is great for kids who keep kosher or are lactose intolerant..even if the "butter" is more or less flavored chemical oil. Lol. Same popcorn at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, OH. This theater is well priced, especially with a membership. I always feel nauseous climbing up the mountain to our seats...like we're sitting on a cliff...But, 9nce I get there, I'm good! It's a wonderful way to spend time with your family or friends, or even a treat alone! :
Was different you could ring your food up like your grabbing a lunch and the seating was cool to they heated up and sled back like a reclining chair in your home. And the movie was cool to it was family safe with dead pool in it. We got quite a few laughs and it end good!
Took my mom down on Saturday the 21 to see White Christmas. The theater is really nice after being remodeled. Seats are very comfortable. The movie was awesome.. My mom is 89 and she really enjoyed herself. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
