In 1973, Tom Rensenhouse opened his first lighting showroom in Kansas City. While it was expected that the newest lighting products from the top manufacturers in the industry would be included, Tom Rensenhouse recognized that it would take much more than just quality products to fulfill his vision of being the "best" lighting store in the market. He did his homework. He researched the industry and the greater Kansas City metroplex.

Dizzying assortment of lights to chose from in every style imaginable ! Prepare to spend at LEAST an hour or more and come with a finish and colors in mind to make it easier to find what you are looking for. It you don't find what you are looking for or found something but want to see if the company who makes the light bigger or smaller and or in different colors you can took it up and or order it with their new system as well and a sales associate would be more than happy to help you!
Amazing store! Much more than just lights this place has everything to change the look of any area in the house. The entire store is a showroom of every type of decor imaginable and the sales associates were extremely helpful. We had Teri show us around and she answered any questions and gave us so much knowledge on the best fixture for our area. She seemed to know everything about every item in the store. Can’t wait to remodel another room in our house. Will definitely return.
I've been meaning to write a review on here so here goes, I own Eagle Bluff Ranch and wanted to share my lighting story from the spring of 2020. During construction I visited Wilson Lighting because that is the only large lighting company that I knew of. I walked in and explained to an employee that I needed help because I was building a wedding venue and had many things to purchase pretty quickly. This guy told me to look around and let him know what I wanted. I left and drove away very frustrated, as I was headed back home, I did a google search and saw that Rensen House of Lights was very close by so I stopped in. I was met at the door by a lovely lady named Marci Lambader. This was the best decision that I would make during my construction experience. Over the next couple months, Marci and I would spend hours going over lighting ideas and designs. We shared many emails back and forth and she went way beyond looking at the in stock in the store for me. She searched out styles and colors online that would work perfect for my budget and building design. Before she would order the lighting, she insisted on driving 90 miles to my business on her day off to be certain that she had led me in the right direction. Well that was about a year ago and I have lost count of the many compliments that I have received on my venue lighting. I couldn't have done it without her and if you want a personal experience when purchasing lighting and a fair price, go to Rensen House of Lights and look up Marci. I'm know they have other wonderful employees there because I witnessed them working as well but Marci will not let you down.
I would not recommend this company! We were told to use them by our builder bc they would make sure we get the right lights, lights that fit, and warranty. Well we picked a light for our master bath, they said it was too big and to pick another. I picked another light that they approved and when it was going to be installed, it's too big. The first said they can't return it bc it is special order even if it's in stock but over $500, then it's considered special order. So it can't be returned. Then they told me that they would allow an exchange but they will only give my 60 percent back. This is absolutely ridiculous. Update: I received a call stating they would allow me to select a new light and get a refund back of the difference between the original light and new light. Still leaving 3 stars since iit had to take multiple emails and a review to get them to understand the issue.
Any type of light you could want or didn’t know you needed, they’ll have it! They have a wide variety of designs and styles. Check the clearance section for randomly great sales on an item you might need. Otherwise, they have quality brands at competitive and matched prices.
Terri is so awesome at her job! Worked with her to select our fixtures for our new build and she made the process super easy. She is very good at selecting for each room and she is so nice! I loved meeting with her! Thank you Terri!! :
We bought a chandelier from Rensen House of Lights for $2,500 and it only worked well for about 2 weeks. We've had multiple transformers replaced on the chandelier and they always burn out. According to the many electricians that we have had fix this issue, it's better to buy a chandelier that doesn't require a transformer. We were not aware that some chandelier's use a transformer before buying the product. Since they sell light fixtures for a living they should know that their high dollar fixtures are faulty. HUGE waste of money for a gorgeous chandelier that NEVER works.
Amazing place to find all kinds of lights. So impressed when I walked in. Founds a great light and it was on clearance too. Staff was friendly and responsive when we called weeks later needing some assistance getting a part.
Never buy from them ever again they are liars and who says you can’t get a refund on something you bought over $500 dollars because you don’t like it, on top of paying for fast delivery and it comes two weeks later.
I was impressed with their beautiful showroom! They had such an amazing selection for me and my spouse to choose from. To take our experience to a whole new level, They had such amazing and helpful sales associates. They were so kind as to talk us through the process and assisted in helping select what fit our space the best. Will be returning!
