Ride on Billabong Surf School

My family is over the moon excited and grateful for our Ride On Surf School experience. My 6 year old daughter with medical challenges was born a mermaid and has been determined to surf for years now, despite physical challenges requiring ongoing therapy. Our condo happened to be across the street from Ride On and after watching them host a bday party, during which all of the kids ranging from 4-12ish ride several waves adorable and amazing!, I knew we had to let our daughter give it a go. Kate was exceptionally patient, kind and happy to give Isla a lesson. Despite the waves being strong enough to knock adults down that day, she was able to get Isla standing up on 2 waves in her first 10 minutes in the water! It was unbelievable and a memory we will never forget. We will go out of our way to return to Ride On and we will hope for another lesson from sweet Kate! Thank you guys sooo much!

This was just fantastic! All three of my kids loved the 9:00 am morning “camp” session, which included about 15 minutes of on the land instruction, 1 hour and 45 minutes of in-the-water, instructor assisted surfing, and a final hour of open surfing. While I did not surf, there was a mix of youth and adults about 10 in all in the lesson. I would absolutely recommend Ride On Surf School in Destin, FL. It is the perfect place for anyone looking to catch some waves and learn how to surf. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and skilled, and they make the entire experience fun and enjoyable from start to finish. The school offers free parking via the beach front parking lot of a local restaurant that is only open in the late afternoon/early evening. From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and a great beach vibe. The instructors will provide you with all the equipment you need, and will give you a quick lesson on the basics before you hit the water. Once you're out in the waves the instructors will guide you every step of the way, giving you tips and tricks to help you catch the perfect wave. The location of Ride On Surf School is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear waters and breathtaking views of the coast. Overall, I would highly recommend Ride On Surf School to anyone looking for an unforgettable surfing experience in Destin, FL. The instructors are top-notch, the location is unbeatable, and the overall vibe is simply fantastic. If you're looking to catch some waves and have a great time, this is the place to be!

Absolutely amazing! Dylan was extremely flexible in adjusting our lesson date and time to accommodate our schedules and ensure the ideal weather for beginning surfers. The slight adjustments Dylan offered between runs were transformative in getting my sister and I up on the board and surfing a wave! If I had more time in FL, I would definitely have booked a second lesson to continue to improve. Thanks a lot!

I found them here on Google and booked a class before the pandemic. We had to reschedule at least 3 times and Dylan was always so nice and accommodating. We finally made the trip to Destin last weekend and we had so much fun with the Ride On team! Jordan was a great teacher and also convinced my son to come try it and he ended up loving every minute of the class! It was our first time and it made me feel surfing is for everyone. Will be coming back!!

Had a great time. 15 yr old daughter with no surfing experience started with a 30-minute mini lesson. Went back the next day for a second lesson and additional time on the board. All of the instructors were great.

Really great surf school. Instructors were very knowledgeable, safe, and kind. We took 4 people for the 2 hour group lesson and had an excellent experience. It was a bit chilly still and they provided us wetsuits. Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best experience you could have! Called Dylan in the afternoon and by morning we were learning how to surf! Not only would I do this again, but our group is already planning a future trip to do it.

My daughter and I decided at the last minute that we wanted to paddle board. They accommodated us right away and were so friendly and helpful! We had a great time! Thank you so much for making the last day of our vacation so amazing!! I highly recommend Ride On and we will be back.

I scheduled a surf lesson party for my daughter’s 14th birthday and they did an amazing job. From the tent and chairs to the accommodations and everyone standing on their board, I would highly recommend a surf party! It was worth every penny and we love our video and experience. Thanks for the memories and inspiring some young, female surfers ‍ It was special and awesome!
