Food was good, nice portions! Unfortunately they overcharged for a drink that the waitress said would only be a "few dollars" extra ended up costing $14 extra. The waitress was new or very inexperienced, she brought our appetizer after our meals, brought the wrong soup than what was ordered, table waters late, and did not mention changing order would be an extra charge. We won't be dinning here again, even though the food was good - not worth all the extra.
Amazing restaurant that has made me a fan of Ecuatoriano cuisine. I enjoy their tripe stew, their ceviches and their beef steak. I order their Bandera combo which is a combination of goat stew, tripe, rice and shrimp.
The Colombian bartender which claimed she was a manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, will not be going here again. I would suggest to hire more kind people who know what they are doing and are welcoming.
As an Ecuadorian, I am ashamed of this place, the owner has no respect for the customers, he refused to talk to me about a dish that I returned and just communicated through the waitress. He charged me for the plate and that is all he was interested in. I do not recommend this place, I don't want this place to give Ecuador or Ecuadorians a bad name. I had the Shrimp Ceviche and the Fish Ceviche and it was watered down, I wasn't trying to not pay my bill, just wanted to let him know how I felt. I am in the restaurant business and I always try to please my clients.
Confused since it seems more Colombian than Ecuadorian. $15 for Guatita is too pricey. I can get a whole lunch with soup, Guatita, and a drink for less than $10 in another Ecuadorian restaurant. Staff is friendly. Food was good. The only problem is the price.
Probably the worst Ecuadorian restaurant I've ever stepped foot in. I've never written a review before, but I have to make sure people avoid this place. The waitress who served me was nice, but completely poor at her job. She kept forgetting what we had ordered, and I asked why other tables were getting complementary bread. She said she forgot. Later, she came back after we had our bread and said she forgot to bring plates for our appetizers. And she consistently stopped to chat with other waitresses and the owner/chef. Me and my brother ordered a Ceviche Mixto, which is basically a seafood cocktail. It's a standard Ecuadorian dish. Seconds later, the waitress came back and asked if we wanted our dish hot or cold. Already a red flag. See, a ceviche is always served cold. My brother in law, who is from Ecuador, was already puzzled. When the food arrived, it was a disaster. The seafood was fresh, thankfully, but they put the seafood in pints of water for some reason, effectively making the ceviche a soup that tasted like nothing. Not to be a food snob, but a ceviche is a distinctly rich flavor, and this wasn't even close. Clearly, the guy has no idea what a ceviche is. Not knowing how to make a ceviche is like an Italian restaurant that doesn't know how to make pasta: it's ridiculous and it makes me question the rest of the entire menu. My brother in law basically poured any condiments on the table to add flavor to the bland and terrible meal. After a few more mistakes, I was ready to leave, and the meal came out to about $40 - getting the bill was another mess, because I had to ask another waitress to get her, and that waitress also forgot about us, leading me to physically get up to go get her. My brother in law expressed his distaste for the food, and the waitress basically shrugged and that the chef is also the owner of the restaurant. She also mentioned that the chef/owner was from Guayaquil. My brother in law is also from there, and was insulted that someone from his town would serve up such poorly made crap. Finally, the waitress finally paid attention and lingered around waiting for a tip. That's such a massive insult to me that - for the first time in my life - I did not leave a tip. It was terrible, and I have no desire to ever go back there. I've been to places where they have accidently left hair or a bug or something else in the food, and I still didn't rate those places as low. Avoid it. There are better places to eat.
This place make you feel like home. It may not be very fancy, and it may not have the NYC style, but that is just a part of what make it so special. They have food that make you feel like you are eating in the Kitchen of your mother or your aunt, and sometime that is more important than anything else.
Food is great tasting...staff is very friendly Great prices and they make you feel at home..The juices are freshly made ....A+++++
Place is nice, food is good, prices are fairly decent, waitress very pretty sociable and well mannered. As Ecuadorian I can assured the place is worth visiting.
Good prices on tacos...3 plus a free soda for $7.50. Next time I will ask for lettuce and tomato on it though.
