Both store are a mess and don't like when they have only one register open when the store busy. They always run out of my soda. not easy store to get in and out of. i give all the Walgreen 0 start north avenue store sidewalk i fell and broke my arm.
I have been having my prescriptions filled at this location for more than a decade. When it was Rite Aid the friendly pharmacists knew me and filled prescriptions quickly. Two of the medications I take daily are important to be taken at the same time every day. Walgreens almost never has them completed the day they are supposed to be ready, even though both me and my clinic have brought the problem to their attention. The turnover rate of the pharmacy staff is also concerning. There are different people behind the counter almost every time I go in. I would not recommend using this pharmacy if you intend to take medications as directed by your doctor.
Manager from store seemed irritated and rude. Quick to get off the phone and direct me to Corp to find my own way. I simply asked her if she could help with a petition for a STOP sign for the Essex Junction community where we live that really needs one. I give them 2 stars for the lack of help for the community. Maybe the person I spoke with on the phone needs a better suiting job. My opinion!
Edit - The service here keeps getting worse. The pharmacy doesn't order things when they say they will. Every time it's some problem. It also seems like they just don't answer the phones at all anymore every time there is a queue of people ahead on the phone, that just doesn't move at all. After listening to their excuses for a couple weeks pharmacist said he was too busy to figure out how to fill my prescription, claimed there was a problem stocking it. Had to go to another Walgreens up the road. They figured it out and filled it same day no problem. I had to explain details about another prescription they should have known. Very unethical. Pharmacy staff are also rude and will snap at you and cut you off.
Very rude interaction with an employee this morning, Friday 2/25. I arrived around 8AM sharp, driving through a snow storm to get some cold medicine for my family. After waiting patiently, soundlessly at the locked door for a few minutes, employee storms up to the door and shouts through the glass “WE’RE NOT OPEN”. Will you open soon, I ask. “We’re not open!” He repeats, rudely, “Not until the other cashier gets here, probably not gonna be open for awhile because of the rods.” Turns his back as if to shoo me away. Okay dude, that’s fine, but the appropriate response to changing your store hours without any warning is an *apology*. “Sorry, we have staffing issues this morning and it’s our policy not to open without two employees here. You’re welcome to wait in your car until they get hear but I’m not certain when that will be” Would have been an effortless way to communicate the situation with appropriate tact. Instead he treated me like I was trying to rob the place at 8am in the middle of snowstorm. Terrible, totally unprovoked, rude customer service. Not sure how this place is still in business treating customers like that.
Was refused service at the drive-thru and told I had to come inside, I told them it wasn't safe for me to do so because I'm immune compromised and every time I've gone in the store during covid, other customers are either wearing poor fitting masks with noses exposed or not wearing masks at all, but no exception was made even though I am very high risk. An antibiotic I desperately needed was not available at my preferred pharmacy that actually has good and sensible covid protocol so I had it transferred here because I was under the impression I would be able to pick it up at the drive-thru, I went 20 miles out of my way and left work early just to do that. When I asked why I couldn't be served at the drive-thru I was told "there wasn't enough staff" which is bs because there were five people working in the pharmacy alone at the time I was there. Won't be coming back and will stick to community health pharmacy from here on out, hopefully I don't run into this situation again. They are not doing anything to ensure that everyone is masked in the store even though there is a mask mandate in the city of Essex.
Avoid this pharmacy at all costs! I wouldn’t go here if it was the last place in VT to get my medications I swear. I have never not once had a good experience here. They’re very disorganized and never have the proper prescription. Save your self the frustration and just go to CVS.
Horrible service when trying to reach the pharmacy staff. I have repeatedly stayed on hold for over an hour at any given time or day listening to the same recording "the staff are all busy", when in fact I called from within the Susie Wilson Rd. store and two employees behind the pharmacy counter were just chatting and laughing. Not once did either of them look toward the telephone.
Went to get a covid test for a trip. Needed the test back within 3 days, was told by the person administering the test results should be sent within 2-3 days. 3 days later got nothing and called and suddenly it changed to 2-7 days. If i knew this before I would've gone somewhere else, especially somewhere more reliable. Gotta cancel the trip now because of this place, would give zero stars if i could Don't bother getting a covid test here unless you're okay waiting 3+ days all the way up to SEVEN DAYS
Had my covid PCR test done last week at Walgreens. My sample sat at Walgreens for 5 days before even being sent to the lab to be processed. Took me a full week to receive my results.
