"Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. Rahway's emergency department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center with telemedicine capability for 24/7 coverage. The campus is home to Care Connection, a licensed subacute rehab unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey‐Rahway, a long‐term acute care hospital for medically complex patients who need intense specialized treatment for an extended period of time. The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services to meet patient's health needs."

July 16, 2023 took my mom who has Dementia to the ER. She was in so much pain. We didn't wait long to be called in. One of the nurses fave my mom a sedative at 2:20pm and 3:05pm. However, we were at the hospital for 7 hours just to tell us buy Tylenol. The next day my mom is like a zombie still from the two shots. I called the ER several times transferred to the nurses station of course there was no answer. I called back and was able to speak to a nurse who transferred me to the PA. The PA didn't want to speak to me so she told the nurse to tell me if I'm so concerned to bring my mom back to the ER. I said are you kidding me!!! This is so ridiculous. I will not go back to Rahway. Horrible care and staff.
I went in for a Urolift procedure on Jul 13, 2023. Admitting was easy with the help of Kanishka. Nurse Sandra Roman was wonderful and professional. In the operating room,Lynn, Leila, and Mariana were terrific, as were the docs who performed the work. Marlene in the recovery room was attentive to my needs and helped me get ready to leave. All in all it was the best hospital experience I’ve ever had…and I do know about having surgeries. Thanks to all.
I don’t know when this hospital went into decline, but the last few years have been awful. I went in around midnight today because my right eye was really bothering me. The “doctor” came, did an “eye exam” to which he said there were no cuts or abrasions there were and gave me eye drops that I couldn’t get from any pharmacy at 2 AM. I went BACK ago the emergency room this time at Overlook in Summit and of course the doctor found the issue an abrasion and prescribed the correct medicine and now I’m all better. I will NOT ever be going back here emergency or not and it was “Dr.” Matthew Davis that “treated” me.
This place deserves no stars. The Doctor and nurses and assistants were terrible. They made false test reports and caused more trouble than help. Then Billing me $2,000 and only gave one bag of IV and blood work. I will be sharing their names and info. This doctor should lose his license and so do the nurses.
Well I live close to this hospital I've been in the emergency room many times it took awhile of me complaining that something else is wrong that your not finding. After many tests they found out what the problem was. I will give the doctors five stars for one time I came in I had three different doctors giving me medicine and they were not comutacateing with one another pretty soon I was talking massive amounts of medicine because I have cirrhosis of the liver. One day I was not feeling well I took a shower I was getting ready to go and I started feeling in a way I cannot explain it came on strong and I felt very scared and told my friend to run the lights I didn't know what was happening, I had a overdose of medicine and long story short they saved my life.
Registration was easy, same day surgery nurses were excellent as well as operating personnel. The recovery room nurses we're excellent they answered all the questions I had.
Everyone MUST AVOID going to this hospital. My aunt had been admitted here after having a stroke. She was stuck in their emergency room for 3 days on a temp bed. She was not administered her medicine while a nurse entered in her chart that medicine was administered. In fact, she was unable to swallow anything because of stroke. Run Away from this place
I had a procedure done this morning at Rahway, RWJ and staff was amazing from start to end, very attentive, and caring for all my needs. I would like to give a special thanks to my entire team that took care of me, Shafali, Sandra Roman RN, Renee RN, in the Operating room, Lois, Lee, Myrda, Habib Thank you so much also last But not least admitting me Kanishka thank you for being so kind.
The staff there was very, very accommodating. They made my stay for my same day surgery very enjoyable and pleasant. Thank God
On February 3rd I visited this hospital for an outpatient procedure. My experience was very positive. From the reception staff to the nurses who give you the order to leave, they were very friendly, kind, and informative. I felt very calm throughout the entire process of my procedure.
