This dog park is a hidden gem. Three distinct parks; small, medium and large dogs each with a 6 foot fence. Water availability at each park. A nice rest room for humans. Lots of convenient parking.
A dog park is only as good as the dog/owners that go there. The dog park just had a makeover April 2023, so its time to update my review! Overall updates are positive and appreciated! What I Like; Separate small, medium, and large dog areas. Brand new benches on cement slabs, new picnic tables, old rotted tables/benches removed. More agility type fixtures placed in medium/large dog gates. Tinge of bitterness; The medium and large dog area fence was removed and turned into one massive medium dog area. The large dog area is located on the opposite side and it's very spacious. What I like; Cement blocks with water fixtures and bowls built-in. Small Con; It is a 50/50 shot how much water will fill the bowl and there is a drain hole in the bowl so the water immediately drains. TIP; Bring a travel dish for your dog to drink water OR plug the hole with a twig which I've seen others do with moderate success. Petty Gripe; Sponsor signs are hung all along the fence of small/medium gate. Obstructs the view. Dog bags available and have been fully stocked since update. Bathrooms on-site and always clean. Dog wash station available and works great! And the squirrels that run around provide enough entertainment for the puppers! Restrooms: Restrooms are single occupancy and handicap friendly. The bathrooms are always clean and have supplies. Picnic area: Picnic tables in dog areas and outside in the open area. Sturdy, splinter free, on cement slabs.
Pay for parking, admission is free. Large fenced areas for different size dogs. Doggy bags provided - and everyone should use them! Nice area for training. Several water areas, some with jugs of water and bowls. The faucets need to be cleaned since they have turned green. There were several people there cleaning. Overall, a good place to take your dog Playground: Large area for dogs to play and a training area. Restrooms: Restrooms are available. Dog-friendliness: It is a dog park!! Picnic area: There are a few picnic tables and benches.
Very big area for dogs of all sizes to run around. A suggestion would be to add sitting areas near any shaded part of the park and also to add extra water stations.
First dog park I’ve been to here in Spring Hill and our dog and I love it! The dogs there are friendly. Plenty of space for our dog to run and play. With the water hose near by to wash/rinse your dog is a plus. And the public restrooms are right there and clean. Definitely a go to for you and your dog
It was fairly clean. Only came across one pile of poop in the large dog section. There was a water spout with bowl which was nice and some shaded areas to escape the sun. Wish there was a little less sand and see more grass in those spots but it's a great spot for my dog to run around and burn energy
My adventure with my Bella at this park was awesome. Our first time here. All the dogs came to check us out at the gate. Bella was growling before we entered. Once we got in she made friends quickly. She ran and played with all the dogs. When we left she was so tired and needed a good brushing . Playground: Nice place they have water for the dogs, even poop bags incase you forgot yours. Restrooms: Nice restrooms. Dog-friendliness: All the dogs got a long well. Picnic area: Nice picnic area tables and benches in the shade.
Nice dog park...separate fenced areas for the different size dogs ...small, medium, and large dog areas. Restrooms and water bowl for dogs...and even a wash area for cleaning up your dog. Table and benches to sit at.
My dog love this doggie park. It divided into sections. For dogs under 55 lbs and 55 lbs and up. Pet owners are nice and friendly. It have water for the animal, and some obstacles for the dogs like small stair and few loop for them to jump
This is a self-service public park. It is not a school, a spa, or a doggy-YMCA. At any given time, the park could be busy or empty, and the park's visitors – human and canine alike – may be friendly or belligerent. It's a public park. I read through the other reviews and I have to mention a quick thing. It's really asinine to downgrade this dog park based on the idea of “culture” at the park. There is no such thing; the dogs and the people change from hour to hour. Dogs and dog-owners of ALL types and stripes come and go at this park. You may encounter dogs and/or dog-owners who are wonderful – or you might encounter some jerks ... same as in any other public space. So it seems rather petulant for reviewers to write a bad-review on this park after encountering a bad dog or bad human at the park. Again, it's a "off leash" public park, not a private social club. With that said, your dog's experience isn't "managed." If you bring little Fluffy out for a romp at the park, she might love it; she might hate it. She may get sniffed or slobbered-on; she might get humped or growled at; she might get bullied – or she could have a truly fabulous time. Who knows. Presuming a dog brawl doesn't break-out, most dog owners generally just sit and watch. Your dog goes and plays with the other dogs, and whatever happens happens. Learning to socialize is what the dog park experience is all about. As a dog owner, you won't be able to control all the variables here. Once you unclip Fluffy's leash, she has to go out and make her own friends without you. So, if you're not ready to let Fluffy get dirty and wrestle with the other kids on the playground, don't come here. As for the facility, I think it's rather ideal. There are several fenced-in lots for different sized dogs. You simply choose the appropriate lot, open the gates and walk-in. I thought the lots were reasonably nice semi-wooded with some grass/mulch/sand and they even have some training obstacles and benches/tables scattered throughout the lots. These lots are not manicured fairways. Expect to see dirt, bare spots, some weeds, some sticks, an unremediated poo-poo or two, etc. There are some key amenities available, like water hoses and large community water bowls, but as you might imagine, these bowls become fouled by multiple dogs repeatedly dunking their dirty faces in there. So, there is water available, but don't expect ice-cold Evian at this park. If you want Fluffy to drink pristine filtered water, you'll need to bring it with you. The facility has convenient parking fee/kiosk style, people bathrooms, a waste/cleanup station, etc., and the whole facility seems reasonably well-maintained. I can find no way to fault the facility. It serves the function is was designed to serve. I actually found this park to be quite pleasant; I enjoyed our visit. My dog made a new friend and they chased one another around to the point of exhaustion. I plan to go back soon. It's a nice resource for the community.
