So much fun and so beautiful! My kids and I had a blast. You can bring coolers into the park. The spring water is chilly, but not too bad. My favorite part was swimming out to the floating doc, looking down into the water, and being able to jump in.
Absolutely beautiful spring! The water is crystal clear. Great place to bring kids and family to swim and have a great time. Nice sandy area and relaxing chairs to lay down on put your stuff down. The water slide is only open on the weekends, and they have mermaid shows every day at 11:00, 1:30, and 3:00. Very nice spring in Florida to come to and have a great time.
The mermaid show is the fun part for all the kids. Manatees watching by boat ride is not to miss. Water rides are another attractions for kids. Must go for first time. Tip: Plan for spending 3-4 hours and go early in the morning and try to grab the early mermaid show as the lines get longer later. You want to get the center seating spot in the show.
WEEKI Wachee is old Florida and has mostly kept true to its ways with some updates. My daughter enjoyed the mermaid show and overall was a good time. The portion of spring you’re allowed to swim at can be cramped on a busy day. I wish they would open it up a tad more. I understand they want to keep people away from where the mermaid show is taking place but more space is needed in my opinion for swimming in the springs. WORD OF ADVICE… get there early especially in the summer! This place has a line starting early and you will not get in if the park fills up. While they have food options it’s best to bring your own food to avoid waiting in line in the scorching sun.
One of those side-of-the-road tourist attractions. Beautiful clear blue waters but ice cold. We went on a Wednesday so it was very chill. The boat tour was short and sweet. The mermaid performance was community theater fun. I wish they had lights and decorations or cool props... Seemed so bare. Maybe a black light tropical fish style theme? Something.. Anyway, it was very reasonably priced family fun!
The water is colder than you think. Be prepared. Ok, now the important stuff. If it is busy season, get there early. I'm talking they open at 9, no later then 9:30. Also, expect to wait in line. Got there at 9:30, the parking lot was almost full, and then got into a line that wrapped around park. Took over 30 minutes get to entrance. By that point, the park was at capacity. Even at capacity, there was plenty of place to set down your stuff and set up a tent or umbrella. Everything ran surprisingly smoothly. Mermaid show was the best part by far and pretty mesmerizing. Be warned, you need to be in line an hour before the show starts.... anyway, overall, good experience. Go for the mermaids. It really is the best part of the whole place.
LOVE this place. It's beautiful, fun- a one of a kind experience. I recommend it to anyone that tells me they're taking a trip to Florida. The mermaid show is so cool. The water park is a bit small, but it truly doesn't take away from how much fun you can have. The water is cool, but refreshing. The smell of the fresh spring water is unbeatable. The boat ride is enjoyable and pretty. Just go!
Waste of time. First off they will charge you $13 to get in but then you don’t get let in the spring. This line is outrageously long. Wayyyyy too overcrowded. Absurd. Should’ve got my money back for this. Never again. Go to other springs in Florida. And this was on a Wednesday! Plus they don’t even have signs directing you to spring. The only sign says mermaid show and doesn’t actually show. For the price they charge it’s extremely neglected. Plus it closes at 5 pm. Should stay open till dusk or 6/7 at least. Total highway robbery.
The water was beautiful and the boat guide was an expert on the wild life. The mermaids are very talented and kind to the children. The kiddy area was perfect and the slides were fun. The tubes are a rip off however and the bathrooms are not very well maintained. Overall, the place is nice and allows you to bring in food and coolers as long as it fits in their guidelines.
We went May 6 2023. We are in our early 70's. Weeki Wachee is well known because of the mermaid show. 76 years and still going. It was cute but definitely for small children. The water slide and the lazy river tube ride are closed during week days until June. Bring sun screen there is no shade. See pic for umbrella rental price. You can bring your own small tent/sunshade. I gave it 4 stars because of the price. $13. Its a nice place for families with young children. May be boring for teenagers looking for more exciting thingd to do.
