Dr.McGowen didn’t bother to listen to my daughter’s lungs when I brought her in for a pneumonia recheck. Now every time I call they offer me him. I’m thinking I’ll have to switch pediatricians. Also, I called today to try and get my daughter an appointment for severe coughing. She was premature and she has had lung issues and I’m very worried. The old blonde lady who works the front desk was incredibly rude to me because I had an appointment last week I had to cancel I have Crohn’s disease as well as arthritis and 2 herniated discs in my neck and I could not get her there because of my health issues. If you don’t want to see a child on a Saturday because you don’t want to have to stay and do your job, just say that. Being rude to scared parents is awful. I truly think we will be changing practices because of their receptionist. She’s been going here since birth and I love every doctor except McGowen, but I won’t have some woman talk rudely to me for trying to have my sick child seen.

I am writing this review because this kind of patient care is unacceptable. I am currently in the office with my son. We’ve been waiting in a room for an hour. This is the second time we’ve waited this long. I really wanted to love this place because of the location, but never again. The staff is great, but i wouldn’t know how the doctor is because this is the second time we’re leaving our appointment before being seen by one.

Dr. McGowen is amazing! My 8 month old has seen him since birth when he visited us at RO Beaumont. He takes his time, is very patient and kind. He is also very knowledgeable. He provides reassurance and supports the way that you want to parent. I strongly recommend this clinic and this doctor! The clinic runs on time and is clean. They do not rush you out if you are nursing or changing your baby. They will get you in the same day for a sick visit and do not provide medications that are unnecessary like antibiotics for a viral infection. Before we started here, we were able to meet with the manager and get a tour and ask questions.

For context, we have been patients of this practice for 4+ years; we have two boys: 2 & 5. Is this place busy? Absolutely yes. Do you wait on hold occasionally? Yes. Do we sometimes wait past our appointment time to be seen? Yes. Do I have a least favorite provider? Yep. Does everyone in this office GENUINELY care about your family? ALSO YES. The nursing and medical office staff are friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and the SAME people we’ve seen over and over again. In a profession where staff can likely leave for a better experience elsewhere - they don’t. Most know who we are on sight, and make it a point to say hi even if we aren’t assigned to them for that visit. My kids light up when they see them and they have expressed their feelings of safety - even if they are nervous. The doctors here - are plentiful. Just like in life, we all have different wants, needs, and communication preferences. While all the doctors are knowledgeable, there is nothing wrong with taking time to find your favorite. We make it a point to schedule our regular visits with whom we connect best. I feel heard & listened to, collaborated with, and respected for my input as parent. Likewise, my kids are given the opportunity to ask and answer questions, advocate for themselves, and have their feelings taken into consideration. Unless my children begin to advocate for changing needs as they get older, we will continue visiting this practice indefinitely.

We’ve had 3 children here over the past 6 years and the practice has declined. The staff are great but they are always running behind. Overbooked. I can’t get in and out anymore it’s at least an hour with lots of waiting around. I typically book early AM appointments too so there’s less of a chance of them running behind. It’s very difficult as a working parent to count on them being on time. They need to better manage their calendar or add more staff to the practice.

I highly recommend Royal Oak Pediatrics to anyone in need of exceptional pediatric care. The entire staff, including the doctors, PAs, and NP, are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and truly care for their patients like family. The medical staff and front desk team consistently provide warm, friendly service, making every visit a positive experience for myself and my two daughters.

I have a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old who have been going to Royal Oak pediatrics since birth and we absolutely love coming here! Overall, the appointments run fairly on schedule and everything is efficient and organized. Most importantly, all of the providers and staff have been so kind to me and my children every time we go. My 2 year old was sick often while she was in daycare and they always got us in quickly for appointments. More recently, my 5 month old has had several issues that I have brought him in for and I have always left the office feeling reassured and confident with his care. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tangri, Dr. McGowan and Kaitlyn, one of the RNs we see frequently, they have been absolutely amazing! They also have a wonderful lactation support team which was life-saving when my babies were newborns. Thank you Royal Oak Pediatrics for the excellent care you continue to provide for my family!

Fell in love with this practice from the moment PA Alyssia introduced herself at the hospital upon first child’s birth. All of the providers are informative and knowledgeable along with the incredible nurses and medical assistants that accompany. If I were a nurse myself, I’d want to work here, such a fun and passionate group. Cannot say enough great things about this office !

I’ve been a patient of ROP since 1976, my brother and I both used to see Dr.Shah. When I got pregnant I came back to ROP. I have 2 boys ages 7and 8. We absolutely love Dr.Manisto, NP Linda, Nermina and the entire staff. My visits for the past 8 years with my kids have always been pleasant! I would have The place is clean, and beautifully maintained. Ive seen alot of change over through out the years and I’ve never had an issue. Most importantly to me is the doctors and nurses they’re the ones that are caring for my sons. I would recommend all my family and friends to ROP and I speak very highly about everyone here! My best advice for everyone is please be kind to everyone as everyone is working very hard and trying to do their best! I appreciate and can’t thank the people enough that are working. ROP thank you very always being AMAZING!

I keep getting tricked into seeing the PA. I really don't care for her or want her treating my children! If I do not see the actual Dr. That i started going to Royal Oak Pediatrics for in the FIRST place I will be forced to find another pediatrician.
