the woman at the desk did not explain that there are old plots and that the section we were looking for has a whole new section across the entire field, we did a lot of walking in the heat just to be in the wrong place. thankfully Bryan the grounds worker drove to our car and directed us to the right spot for the grave we were looking for. organized cemetery but not properly explained by the office...
Very nice cemetery. I have maintained both sets of my Grandparents plots for over 30 years & now my parents for over 18. I plant at 3 graves & anytime I've asked for more soil due to settling they bring it. Recently an issue I had with the grass which had nothing to do with the grounds crew I had asked if they could seed the area. They added dirt, raked it & seeded for me with no charge. The grounds crew manager showed up the same day I went to the office about it. He was so kind & understanding & promised it would be taken care of. All was done as promised. I also had a stone raised due to settling after 30 yrs. They handled the stone with care & did a great job. Having buried over 7 relatives there, we have never experienced any issues. Anytime I've gone to the office, I have been assisted & given a follow up letter or phone call to advise my request was taken care of. Very pleased that my loved ones final resting place is clean, maintained & peaceful. Thank you St. Charles cemetery staff.
My dad is buried there I was 3 at the time so don’t remember it. But whenever we went to visit it was always nice and clean/ well maintained. My aunt, uncle, and grandparents all bought plots around my dad. Nice quiet open space to grieve. You can ask at the chapel to have the stone blessed every year and the priest will drive down to the plot and have a little ceremony at the grave. I have gone here for 13 years and know others who have their loved ones buried here. Beautiful place for my dad.
Never been there. My family is interred in Linden, NJ, Rosehill Rosedale cemeteries. I just want to say that the grounds are so well kept. Everything is so clean! Its cheerful if u can call a cemetery that. But lovely grounds. Not even a scrap of paper on the ground. Beautiful
The most insensitive people ever . Waiting months for them to issue a permit for engraving on my brothers grave . First Judy from the stone works department said my paperwork wasn’t in order.I corrected it and they still haven’t issued the permit . I have called , been hung up on , and none of my calls returned. Judy Alversa and the office staff at St Charles have absolutely zero compassion.
Visit here once in awhile with my Godmother to lay flowers on her Mother in laws grave. The place is growing and many new areas are opening. It’s becoming more uniform in size of plot, head stone etc. I enjoy seeing the beautiful flowers and mostly plants being planted. The Live Forever Plant which grows a beautiful different color flower every end of summer. Many plots have them. The grounds are kept nice and neat. Only issue is you can get lost, it’s hard to find plots the way they have it now numbered. They have this beautiful section for Angels..... small babies and Children. It is clearly marked. They have another section, a specific one, but I can’t remember for whom. I like that idea.
A racket that preys on people by charging exorbitant fees to use property they already have paid for. They sold people on the idea of owning a plot years ago and now charge many times the original price to actually use the plots. They are obstructionist and make a difficult process more difficult.
They were great in helping me bring my grandmothers ashes from Florida to be put in her final resting place with my grandfather and her daughter she lost at the age of 6 years old. They helped me get everything I needed that way when we got there we wouldn't have any hiccups and everything was perfect. Still waiting for engraving and having head stone recapped but am sure they will handle this also without issue. Thank you for making this journey easy and I pray my grandmother is resting with my grandfather and her daughter until we are all reunited.
My beloved son is buried here he was buried in December 2018. I went during the week to visit his grave and what do I see But a cemetery employee spitting on my son’s grave! I went after the employee and ask him what his problem was he said he didn’t speak English needless to say he almost ended up in an open grave. I reported to the cemetery management they were unsympathetic they told me that it in the gravediggers union rules that they could spit and urinate if they’re too far away from a bathroom. On a tree or a grave. I am now in the process of going to court to have Have my sons body removed and put in another cemetery not a Catholic cemetery. Also the cemetery will be served legal papers because I’m suing them . If you need a cemetery do not use Saint Charles or St. Mary’s cemetery. I hope this helps families.
A very Beautiful Cemetery, many friends and most of my family are buried here. Beautifully manicured grounds, trees and Religious Statues throughout. God Bless and God Rest there Souls. Love and Peace.......
