Was cleaning the river bed and my bag busted. 3 rangers in training walked by me and did not even offer to help. A river this nice should near be so polluted. Take a bag with u when you go walking and just pick up the trash you see a long the way. I do ever time. You will make a difference and feel good about doing your part. I just do not think mother nature can take much more
Been in Salem almost 20 years, and the whole town is proud of its Dept of Parks and Recreation. You need only to visit one of many of the City's venues to see why. Always well kept and safe.
The sat. Nite picking in the park was a nice event today aug.22...in longwood park...from 5 till 830....however why dont they put in a few porta johns..especially around the upper pavilion on top of the hill....this event drew more of the older people from the area....we have to pee more ofton...there was a large gathering at that pavilion also...no shelter restrooms were open at all. WH . Dont say covid 19....other restrooms are open to the public....you missed this event badly....just our opinion
So much to do here. Walking trail. Playground. Moyer ball field. Skateboard park. Fishing from river. Parks are all very clean.
Very nice place but bathrooms were very dirty. Doesn't seem like the bathrooms have been cleaned in 2018.
Great place for the whole family. There's a playground for the kids to enjoy and a park where you can walk, jog, or bike to enjoy nature.

Good walking break from I-81
Nice park, could use some updates to facilities.
Very nice walk on the Greenway along the Roanoke River.
