The Park Dance Club

Absolutely love this place! Amazing drinks, safe club environment, great bar food: burgers, tater tots, & fries, friendly staff: Robyn & Donovan are my go-to bartenders, & most importantly the QUEENS & KINGS that give us phenomenal shows weekly! Too many of my loves to name, but you know I love all y’all!

I honestly like this club. However, their drinks are way overpriced. The average drink cost is about $13, and if you order a double, it's about $18. That is on top of a 15 to $20 cover, depending on what's going on that night. I went here for Roanoke Pride in 2022 and was told by a worker that the full package to have a meeting with greet with the drag queens from drag race would be $50 for all three nights. We showed up the next night and was informed by a different member of staff that that was incorrect information and the actual cost to meet the Queen's for all three nights were $350 a person. For me, this is Shady Business Practices. I shouldn't have to do my research for prices at this bar on their Facebook page, which doesn't always have the prices for the events. Also, they have a drink menu, but there are no prices for the drinks. Most people want to know what they're paying before they pay for it, just saying. So, as a result, I make my visits once in a blue moon now.

What a fun, welcoming place! The park has been around for at least 50 years, no kidding. We always went there after everywhere else had closed, but it's not just a late night after bar. It's a thriving little gay dance club! If you haven't done the Sunday drag brunch, the food is to die for and the show is campy, hilarious and wildly entertaining! Just go. You'll love it.

Was here a few weeks ago and had an AMAZING time. The owner was there and engaging with all the people. The bartenders kept the drinks flowing with a smile and positive vibes. They offered a few new drinks that were on point. There was a drag show and they ladies did a good job. Overall I really enjoyed my time and can't wait to return!!!!

Love the atmosphere. Music is based on patrons' requests..which is Awesome! Great lighting. A wonderful club for LGBT and LGBT FRIENDLY people over 18 21 to drink to enjoy good food, drinks, shows, pagents and events! Always clean and Always fun!

The night was great, but the DJ’s transitions are not it. I wish there was a hint of Latin or Reggaeton to really spice things up, instead of playing different parts of the same song repeatedly.

I'm giving you 3 stars because the bartender with the pink hair saw us standing there and kept skipping us more than 5 times So I called her out on it and she got an attitude about it.

Super fun club. Went for pride last year and had an amazing time.

I went here on Thursday, May 5th, 2022 for the Cinco de Mayo EDM night. I had a great time listening to the DJsand the bartender was polite. However, I was really put off by the way the door person treated me. I asked if I could put the cover charge on my tab, and he said yes, so I assumed that I could walk in. He said "Sev-en doll-ars" to me in an incredibly patronizing tone of voice, as if I were stupid. I gave him my credit card and once he'd swiped it, I apologized for misunderstanding. He just stared at me blankly as if I hadn't spoken. I realize that The Park has this long and glorious tradition of being THE Gay Bar in Roanoke, but honestly, I've felt way more welcomed at places whose raison d'etre isn't being LGBTQ+ friendly. Add in the lack of windows and the frankly dated atmosphere and I find myself wondering what it is people like about this place. I may be back, I may not, but the whole experience left me whelmed.

The staff was amazing. Located in the industrial section, indefinitely wasn't expecting much of a crowd, but was surprised at being wrong! Great crowd, and great vibes! Drinks were very reasonable probably because they were accidentally charged on my friends tab, whoops! Would definitely love to play here again.
