We drove an 1hr away didn't know this store was here. Great music store with a nice variety of musical equipment new and used. Very helpful staff and everything is on to sample big +. Great acoustic rooms.I would love to see a show in there back stage great little room!
Purchased the Fender Telecaster Ultra from Ben at the Franklin Mills, PA store. I am very happy with this guitar. Ben allowed me to play a few different models while answering all my questions concerning the characteristics of each version like noiseless pickups and bridge configurations. I will shop at Sam Ash again in the future.
My 12-year old son had been saving diligently for two years to purchase his own classical guitar. His excitement on the day was palpable and we started the process at Guitar Center. His excitement was quickly withering, what with having spent over 20 minutes waiting to access the classical guitars in one of the two side rooms wherein a jam band decided to take residence. No complaint about the instruments, but the whole vibe of the day took a hit. Then we hit Sam Ash, just as I did 25 years ago. Friendly staff, respectful shoppers, and enough open-air where we could tune the guitars properly before playing. We found our unicorn on this day, a Yamaha CG172SF. Great acoustics and super-low play, a feature that will help encourage a budding player. BUT, there was a problem - fret buzz. While this is not an uncommon phenomena on a classical, this case was...a bit on the extreme side. So what did Sam Ash do? They put a free ticket in to the tech office to get it perfect for my son. Overall, very, very satisfied with our purchase. This is THE place to go in South Jersey for a guitar, and to try out a cello while you're exploring the musical world!
This rating is for the repair section of Sam Ash as I have not purchased an instrument from this location yet. Went into Sam Ash to meet Barry- he was recommended by Tim the owner of the Music Place. I was greeted with a friendly smile. He asked me what was the issue and took the guitar back to his shop to take a look. He had an idea what it was and he fixed it! I would definitely come back to have him look at my other guitars. Well worth the 30 min drive! Thanks Barry!
Sam Ash has always been my favorite music store. I've bought more instruments than I can count from their other locations over the years. I decided that I wanted to learn ukulele since I'm bored at home, so I stopped in. I was acknowledged when I first walked in, but after spending about a half hour in the acoustic section without a single employee coming back, other than to take a phone call, I decided that this location just wasn't interested in a sale. But honestly, that's not the reason for my rating. I gave this location 4 stars because there really wasn't much of a selection of ukuleles. It may just not be a popular instrument for them, but even by Sam Ash standards, I think it was odd to see a lack of selection for any instrument.
If you looking for anything drum related look for John. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely be back. Also loved you could walk freely around with being hounded by sales people. Its was nice just walking around n seeing the different things they have.
Wow. I honestly don't know where to start so I'll cut to the chase. If you need anything just come here. The staff is not only friendly but honest and kind. I will definitely be back and this is now my go-to music store. Guitar Tech Barry is not only a cool guy, but genuinely cares about his customers. He didn't just make sure i was helped, but went the extra mile and it truly shows!
As a first time experience going into a music store with no knowledge of what I needed for my guitar, the staff all treated me incredibly well and gave me nothing but motivating pep talk and readily aided me with the things I needed as well. Great associates such as Barry went above and beyond with customer service as he took great care of my guitar with restringing it and giving me tips on how to properly take care of my 20 year old Squire! The prices were all incredibly fair too. For new musicians, I can’t think of a better store to go to! Avoid guitar center at all costs, these guys are far nicer and more willing to help with whatever needs you may have as a first time musician.
I will highly recommend this place. They really took care of me. On 1/6/2023 I called up because I was fed up with guitar Center and the issues I had. I bought a ltd guitar for my 10 year old son on Thursday and the next day the string broke. Guitar center wanted to charge me $100 to fix it when I only had it 24 hours. This was my last straw. Over the last 6 month my son has been through 3 guitars from guitar Center because they break within like two months. After talking to the manager thanasi and explaining what happened with guitar Center he took care of me. And then Michael a.k.a. Barry Allen. Yes he looks like the flash checked me out and took care of my sons guitar I would highly recommend this place for all your music needs. They are very knowledgeable and have amazing customer service. I will continue to drive the hour To this place from Delaware.
Came to this store to trade in equipment for store credit. Manager was nice and said it would be 10-15 minutes to do all the paperwork. I did my portion quickly and submitted, then waited while he disappeared into his office in the back. I was stuck sitting in the store for at least 50 minutes while the staff slowly processed whatever they were doing on the computer. Don't know if this is a "keep him here to look at gear" sales tactic but it was a time sink. In the meantime, I had to put up with some local skinny long-hair music store punisher, pestering me about the equipment I just brought in. Finally just stood staring at the staff until I got the receipt for submission and left. Go to the Guitar Center next door, they'll have you in and out of there right away.
