Sam’s Burger Joint and Music Hall is known to both artists and appreciative fans alike as the best music room in San Antonio. With an excellent sound system, an unobstructed view, great food and a diverse line-up of acts, it’s not hard to see why it has that reputation.
The stage at Sam’s has seen everything from blues to indie rock, rockabilly and swing to country, and Americana to soul and funk. In addition to local favorites, Sam’s has hosted internationally known musicians such as Gary Clark Jr., Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Geoff Tate, Candlebox, Saxon, Leon Bridges, Vaden Todd Lewis, The Mavericks, Robin Trower, Colin Hay, Eric Johnson, Paul Thorn, The Texas Tornados, James McMurtry and many more.
Sam’s is centrally located just north of downtown at Broadway and Grayson. The distinctive neon album-shaped sign can be seen from Highway 281, and it’s right next to the Pearl Brewery.
In addition to live music, Sam’s also features comedy nights, swing dance lessons, and other special events.
